What I Can Do Now with a Duolingo English Score of 130
The other day, I achieved a goal on my favorite language learning app, Duolingo.
That goal was completing the English course.
Currently, the Duolingo English course is only set up to a score level of 130. To put it in slightly more technical terms, it means I can learn up to the CEFR B2 level.
The time I accumulated to reach this level is not something that can be easily measured. However, it is precisely because of the daily accumulation that I was able to reach it.

Today, to celebrate this milestone, I would like to introduce what I can do at level 130.
I believe this is something that can reach the hearts of everyone: those who are about to start learning English, those who have been working on learning English like me, and those who want to try but haven't found the motivation to start.
Increase in the number of words in conversation
The first point is that my English vocabulary has increased significantly.
If I were to introduce a word that is fresh in my memory recently,
It is "Accomplish".
I gained a better understanding when I had Gemini express this word in Japanese, so I will quote it here as well.
Accomplish: This is a very common and strong verb meaning "to achieve," "to accomplish," "to fulfill," or "to carry out." It implies successfully completing a task or goal, often one that requires effort or perseverance.
In Duolingo, it is possible to encounter new words within conversational sentences. Even in situations where a specific Japanese translation does not appear, you can proceed with your learning by predicting or imagining the meaning from the flow of the conversation.
However, there were times when I wondered if that would lead to a shallow understanding, but that is not the case.
Because it is a learning app that assumes actual usage scenarios, you can intuitively understand in what situations a word is used.
Also, by utilizing AI in addition to Duolingo to look up meanings in my native language, I have been able to elevate my level of understanding.
I would like to continue striving to strengthen my vocabulary in the target language by multiplying apps, rather than relying on just one.
My ears have become accustomed to the rhythm and speed of English
The second point is that by being exposed to English every day, my ears have become accustomed to its rhythm and speed. Of course, as I mentioned in the article below, I am not learning solely through Duolingo, so the influence of other learning methods must also be taken into account.
However, Duolingo is an app that I continue to use every day. I believe that the fact of this consistency is directly proportional to the rise in my learning level.
As my ears have become accustomed to English audio, the number of words and phrases I can hear and understand has definitely increased.
For example, I can now reliably hear and understand the meaning of the phrase "over the course of," regardless of which speaker is saying it.
I have become able to perform repeating or shadowing more quickly
Finally, I will introduce the third point.
That is, it has become easier for me to repeat or shadow the English I hear using the English audio itself.
In Duolingo, there are parts where you can practice repeating the English sentences that are spoken. In the beginning, I often had to listen to them many times, but now I can repeat even long sentences after hearing them just once.
I can predict that the same logic applies to shadowing, and that I am becoming capable of reacting immediately.
Summary
Although I have not been learning solely through the Duolingo app, this app certainly occupies the center of my English learning.
From now on, while reviewing my English, I would like to take on the challenge of learning other languages as well.
Thank you for reading until the end again today. I am always happy for your "like" support. Thank you, and I look forward to your continued support.
