[The Honest Truth of a Female Golfer] ⑤ Is it actually not for meeting people? Why women use solo booking services
I am a woman in my 30s who has used solo booking services over 100 times.
When I write about solo booking, people sometimes think,
“Are you looking to meet someone?”
In this post, I’d like to share my honest thoughts on that.
I usually play rounds with my golf buddies.
I usually play rounds with golf friends I know well.
Sometimes I play with other women, and sometimes I play with a group of golf friends that includes men.
However, once you become a working adult, it’s surprisingly difficult to coordinate schedules.
There’s work, and during seasons like the current rainy season, it also depends on the weather.
Even if you go to the trouble of making plans, they can sometimes be postponed due to rain.
The appeal of solo booking is that you can go whenever you feel like it.
A day when I had a good feeling at the driving range.
A day when I wanted to try out a new club.
A day when I suddenly felt like playing golf.
I think the appeal of solo booking is being able to book easily at times like those.
You don’t need to check anyone else’s schedule.
“I want to play golf tomorrow.”
If I think that, I can just book it.
I love that convenience.
Meeting people is not the goal.
In the world of solo booking, a profile like
“30s female, score in the 90s”
might be rare.
Sometimes a slot gets booked the moment a cancellation appears.
But I personally don’t use solo booking because I want to meet men through golf.To be honest, I’m all set in that department (lol).
I just want to play golf.
That is the number one reason.
That’s how much I love golf (lol).
What women really hope for with solo booking
Actually, my wish is very simple.
I wonder what kind of people I’ll be playing with today.
I feel a little anxious.
But,
・No unsolicited coaches
・No angry people
・No one who drinks too much and changes personality
・No one who asks too many personal questions
If it’s just anormal day like that, that’s enough.
More than meeting people,
more than the score,
“I hope I can finish 18 holes in peace.”
This might be my true feeling.
Maybe a quiet old gentleman is actually the most popular?
Even when talking with other female golfers, we sometimes say,
“I’m glad we had a peaceful group today.”
It’s often more comfortable to be with someone who keeps a reasonable distance than someone who keeps talking to you.
Actually, the most popular person might be
a quiet old gentleman who plays silently.
(lol)
Summary
The reason for solo booking is not to meet people.
It’s because I can play the golf I love whenever I want.
Isn’t this a wish shared by many golfers, regardless of gender?
If I can enjoy 18 holes in peace today, that alone is a huge satisfaction.⛳
That is the reason I continue to use solo booking.
