A New Partnerð¶
Hello ð (Or should I say good morning?)
It's Yu-san, back after a long time ðââïž
I have a memory of saying I'd write again soon, but
that feels like a long time ago ð
W-well, it's not like I was slacking off...
Liar ð€¥
is what people would say ðŠ
Even if I want to write a blog, time-wise
I can't seem to balance it well ðŠ
That's an area I need to improve on...
Well, last time,
I talked about saying goodbye to my Prado,
but this time, a new partner for work
has arrived at our home ð

N-BOX JOY Turbo
Believe it or not, it's the first kei car in my historyâŒïž
This is the episode on YouTube ð
She's truly a cute one ð
I'm looking forward to going to work âš
The build quality as a car is just too goodâŒïž
Since it's a car I'll use for work,
I looked around and considered various things before buying.
The conditions were
Can properly load tools,
Solid driving support,
Has all-speed ACC,
Seats aren't too hard,
Good ride comfort,
Can use CarPlay,
Turbo included,
And as fuel-efficient as possible,
If possible, around 2.3 million on the road
With that in mind,
the candidates were
ã»Delica Mini
ã»Atrai
ã»Spacia Gear
ã»N-BOX
At first,
Delica Mini
As a huge fan of Delimaru, I honestly wanted it, but...
If it's a Delica Mini, 4WD is a must,
the cargo area becomes flat,
and since the material is resin, I can use it without worrying about dirt,
but the slope bothered me,
and since I load tools, I was a bit worried.
The driving feel was also very light and nimble,
and I could have been quite satisfied ð
The driving support also involves Nissan,
so it has the same equipment as a regular car, including ACC.
However, the optional audio equipment
was a bit pricey, coming to 2.8 million on the road.
Furthermore, the specifications I could order were limited,
so I gave up...
(
Thinking about it now, it was a full model change...Maybe I should have waited for that.
I feel like I missed out a bit...
)
Atrai
The cargo area is flawlessâŒïž
I haven't test-driven it,
but the current model has a CVT,
so the driving and fuel economy are better than the previous type.
It has all-speed ACC, which the Hijet Cargo doesn't have,
and adaptive high beams, which are rare for a kei car,
so it's attractive.
Of course, the tires are small,
so maintenance costs are also considered.
However, the display audio is
a bit iffy, and it seems it doesn't have DCM.
The connect function is quite basic.
The driving support is just so-so.
And the fate of this type of van...
The engine is under the driver's seat, so it's hot.
I deducted points for that.
The price on the road was 2.33 million.
But it remained a candidate until the end.
And then,
Spacia Gear
The cargo area is flat and the material is resin.
The fact that there is some slope is still a concern.
However, since it's a grade marketed for outdoor use,
it seems easy to use ð¡
The driving is also a mild hybrid,
so the low-speed torque is good,
and in terms of real-world fuel economy, it's slightly better
than the others.
The genuine navigation system with connect
also comes with an all-around camera for about 200,000 yen.
It has driving support, but
it felt a bit lacking...
That was my impression.
The price on the road was 2.66 million.
The car is quite good and remained a candidate until the end,
but the salesperson didn't quite click with me ð€
Then, while talking to the Daihatsu salesperson,
they asked, 'Have you seen the N-BOX?' and
'Why don't you take a look at it just in case?'
they advised me...
Wait, being told to go to Honda at a Daihatsu dealership,
what does that mean??
In a way, is it like 'get out of here'?? ð€£
So I went to Honda.
I went there intending to get a Custom N-BOX,
but there was a two-tone JOY parked there.
The salesperson who ended up taking care of me
told me after I explained how I would use it,
'The cargo area does have a slope, but
the JOY is flatter than the Custom.'
They taught me that ð
The interior color is beige check,
and the cargo area is cloth, so I'm worried about dirt... but...
Other than that, no problemsâŒïž
When I test-drove it, it was the quietest
and most comfortable ride I've ever had âª
Good when you step on it, good when cruising,
I understand why it's selling so well ð
The audio is a dealer option,
and the navigation is a display audio.
If you choose that, it has DCM installed,
so you can use connect like My Toyota.
It even has remote air conditioningâŒïž
This is a big advantage.
The driving support is Honda SENSING,
meaning it's equipped with the same system as the Step WGN and Fit,
and it also has an electric parking brake.
Of course, it has all-speed ACC.
I thought, 'Is this a buy??' and
negotiated for the N-BOX JOY.
I liked the salesperson,
so I decided that if I was going to buy, it would be here.
The initial quote was 2.54 million on the road,
and after changing options, it was finally 2.58 million.
While finalizing the conditions,
I said,
'The Atrai is 2.33 million, you know.'
'If it were around that much, I'd have no complaints.'
When I said that, they said, 'Please wait a moment,'
and disappeared into the back...
They put down the computer they were holding and came back with
a piece of paper, and on it was 2.33 million... ð²
That's when I decidedâŒïž
It's hard for me to say this myself...
but I have a habit of negotiating ðŠ
I know I'm a troublesome person,
but I always do it ð€£
I've sat in on countless negotiations
for people who are bad at bargaining ð€
If you need help, please consult me ð€£
I'm grateful to the salesperson who handled everything smoothly
even until the actual delivery ðââïž
They are someone who does their job properly, so I'm leaving it to them
with peace of mind.
I wish the salesperson at the Toyota dealership I go to
would learn from them...
And back to the story...
When it was actually delivered and I drove it,
the feeling changed a bit because I loaded tools,
but it's still a very comfortable car.
With the turbo and CVT, acceleration on highways and merging is agile ð
If you cruise with ACC on, the fuel economy is good,
no complaintsâŒïž
I used to drive imported cars for work,
but I think now,
'If it was going to be like this, I should have just gone with the N-BOX from the start.'
However... such an N-BOX JOYhas one single complaint.
I have something...
The fuel tank âœïž
is just too smallâŒïž
I mean, 27L?
A full tank gets me about 300km,
and even at best, it won't go 400km.
In reality, I'm refueling every 3 to 5 days ð
That is the only drawback.
I kind of wish it had another tank,
like the Land Cruiser 70 ð€
Other than that, I'm super satisfiedâŒïž
An honor student that isn't great at long-distance driving
is how I'd put it.
I understand why it's selling so well.
I call this N-BOX JOY
JOY-kun
and actually, I've already started customizing it here and there.
Of course,
the dashcam is MAXWIN
Since it's my first kei car, I wanted to improve the performance a bit...
Response Ring
And furthermore...
TDI tuning
Modern kei cars run quite briskly, but
this makes it even more nimble ð
And, unusually, the speakersare something I tried changing ð€
The stock wheels are steel,
but they are painted,
and with the rim rings and center caps,
they have a very cute design.
However, the tires were a bit squishy,
so I finally
made my Open Country debut
For the stock display audio,
I want to use CarPlay,
but I also want to play videos and such.
I didn't need an AI BOX, but
just when I was thinking that,
I found this, which is even more convenient to use:
Ottocast Mirror Touch
This has made it a comfortable vehicle for travel ð
I basically listen to the radio,
but sometimes I switch to my beloved
Initial D anime
while I'm on the move ð
Well, Eurobeat might be a bit dangerous
while driving, though ð€£
So, with that said,
JOY-kun has joined our family,
but maybe some of you thought,
Wait, you replaced your Prado with that?
I also let go of that certain imported car for JOY-kun ð
I don't know if this was the trigger,
but I've received new work,
and there have been changes.
They say that when you declutter or buy new things,
the flow of things changes,
and it really does happen ð
My motivation for work is seriously
up right now, lol.
But enough about that.
As for the N-BOX JOY, which is the main topic,
if you don't go on long trips and 4 seats are fine,
it's the perfect car for youâŒïž
I highly recommend it ð
So, that was the story of
the newly joined
N-BOX JOY ð
Next time... I intend to come back
without too much of a gap... ð
I'm thinking of talking about
my otaku activities,
so look forward to it.
Things are starting to go around again,
so please take care of yourselves
and stay safe ðïž
See you later ðïž
