Discover the Joy of Tending Your Own Garden

Thank you for reading!

I often hear the saying, "The grass is always greener on the other side." I used to feel that way myself.
I would look at other people's lives and successes, feel envious, and become dissatisfied with my own situation.

But now, I realize that way of thinking was wrong.

Why does the grass on the other side look greener to us? It is because we only see the surface of other people's lives.
The glamorous posts we see on social media, stories of friends' successes, the brilliant careers of people we admire.
But those are all just the tip of the iceberg.

One day, I suddenly realized something.
The importance of cherishing my own life instead of envying the lives of others.
And I discovered the joy of tending to my own "garden."

First, I started by accepting my current situation.
There is no such thing as a perfect life.
Everyone has some kind of problem or challenge.

By acknowledging my weaknesses and flaws and making an effort to improve them, I began to feel myself growing, little by little.

Next, I turned my attention to my own strengths and talents. Everyone has unique talents.
By finding and polishing them, I began to see my own form of success.
Instead of comparing myself to others, I started comparing myself to who I was yesterday, which allowed me to celebrate even small progress.

Then, I realized the importance of having a sense of gratitude.
There are actually many things to be grateful for that I had taken for granted.
Being healthy, having family and friends, having food to eat.
When I focused on those everyday joys, life began to feel much richer.

Of course, there are times when I face setbacks or failures. But I have come to think of those as important experiences that help me grow. Every time I overcome a difficulty, my confidence grows.

Also, I have become able to genuinely be happy for the success of others.
Just because someone else succeeds does not mean my own potential decreases.
Rather, I can learn from that person's success.
By viewing the "grass on the other side" as inspiration and encouragement rather than something to envy, I can grow myself.

And above all, I have come to enjoy the very process of tending to my own "garden."

Striving toward goals, challenging myself with new things, and growing little by little. All of these become irreplaceable experiences that shape who I am.

Now, when I hear the phrase "the grass is always greener on the other side," I don't feel down like I used to. Instead, I can proudly say, "My own garden is plenty lush and green."

I encourage you all to try nurturing your own "garden" with care instead of feeling down by comparing yourself to others.
I am sure you will be able to find irreplaceable joy and fulfillment there. Finding your own form of success and taking it one step at a time. I believe that kind of life is what truly makes for a "lush green lawn."

By discovering the joy of tending your own garden, life becomes much richer. Why not start growing your own "green grass" from today?
