The Charm of June: Enjoying the Rain
Thank you for reading!
As June begins, the sky changes completely, and the steady, drizzling rain comes to dominate the landscape.
It is the moment you truly feel that the rainy season has arrived.
When it rains, I tend to feel negative for some reason.
However, if you change your perspective a little, rain has many benefits.
To enjoy June more, why not think about the benefits of rain and other unique charms of the month?
The Positive Aspects of Rain
Let's think about the positive aspects of rain.
First of all, rain is essential for nature.
Plants absorb rainwater to grow, providing us with fresh air and beautiful scenery.
If it didn't rain, plants would wither, and we wouldn't be able to maintain a lush natural environment. Rain is also important for crops.
For farmers, moderate rain is a crucial element that brings a bountiful harvest.
Japan's rainy season supplies water to rice paddies and supports the foundation of rice cultivation. The rain in June is indispensable for a rich rice harvest. Rainy days also increase the time we spend relaxing at home.
It is a great opportunity to enjoy things you don't usually have time for, such as reading your favorite book, watching a movie, or trying your hand at cooking.
Spending a relaxing time with the sound of rain as background music is also a wonderful way to pass the time.
The Charm of June
The charm of June is not just about the rain. There are many other things to enjoy. First, in many regions, hydrangeas reach their peak in June.
As the name suggests, hydrangeas are flowers that look even more beautiful on rainy days.
The sight of colorful hydrangeas in blue, purple, and pink blooming in abundance is like a painting created by nature.
Going outside even on rainy days to enjoy the hydrangeas enriches the heart. Fireflies also make an appearance in June. From dusk until night, you can see the magical light of fireflies around quiet rivers and rice fields. The light of the fireflies is a beautiful glow that seems to herald the arrival of summer. Furthermore, June is also the season for new tea. New tea refers to tea made from the first tea leaves picked that year. New tea is characterized by its high fragrance and refreshing taste. Enjoying new tea, which can only be tasted during this season, is a luxury unique to June.
Tips for enjoying June
Here are some tips for enjoying the month of June.
1. Enjoy rain fashion
To spend rainy days in style, try focusing on your rain fashion, such as raincoats, rain boots, and umbrellas.
Choosing items with bright colors or fun designs can lift your mood on rainy days.
By the way, here is a folding umbrella that I personally recommend.
2. Rainy day activities
How about planning some indoor activities to enjoy on rainy days?
Trying out hobbies you can do at home, such as arts and crafts, is also a great idea.
3. Healing in nature
You can spend time in nature even on rainy days.
By taking a walk with an umbrella or visiting a botanical garden or park, you can feel the tranquility and beauty unique to rainy days.
4. Relax in a hot spring or sauna
On rainy days, it is also recommended to warm up and relax in a hot spring or sauna.
Soaking in warm water while listening to the sound of the rain will heal both your mind and body.
Summary
June is a month with a lot of rain, but by changing your perspective, you can find many of its charms.
Let's find the benefits that rain brings and the joys unique to June, and spend the month with a positive attitude.
By cherishing special experiences that can only be enjoyed this season, such as hydrangeas, fireflies, and new tea, June is sure to become a more enjoyable month.
