The category is “#Mystery Novel Category”, and the Giallo editors from our department will be involved in the selection process. The works we are looking for are, simply put, mysteries where a “murder case” occurs.

Kobunsha Literary Editorial Department
The Kobunsha Literary Editorial Department will participate in the selection for the “Mystery Novel” category of the 2nd Creative Awards. We publish the bimonthly mystery magazine “Giallo,” and we look forward to encountering interesting mystery works that we can feature there.
The conditions for mystery works sought by “Giallo” are the following two points:
① A murder case must occur
Even if we say “mystery,” the content varies and can be subdivided into many genres, ranging from hard-boiled serial murders and authentic locked-room tricks to lighter cases often called everyday mysteries. In many mystery-related newcomer awards, it is common for works from different genres to be compared and evaluated in a “mixed martial arts” style, but for this selection, we have decided to narrow down the genre. However, there is no need to overthink it. As long as a “murder case” occurs, you are free to choose any theme. Please enjoy creating your work with free ideas.
② An attractive “detective” or culprit must appear
Even if we say “detective,” it does not have to be a professional detective. It can be a police officer, a company employee, a student, or anyone else. We are looking for works with an attractive detective character who solves the mystery, or an attractive culprit character who creates the mystery.
