[Turning Play into Learning] 🤖 AI English Conversation to 'Show Off' by Creating Images in Public 🎙️ AI Image Creation with Super Whisper!
📝 These days, while humanoids are great, I find myself wanting a cat-type one 🤖
Recently, the evolution of 'physical AI' and humanoid robots has been incredible.
Hello, I'm Erika.
But... honestly, while humanoids are nice, am I the only one who wants them to make a 'cat-type robot' first? (Not the one with the blue pocket, but one with cat ears like me...)
Setting such delusions aside, I have once again devised a new learning method for myself: 'AI English conversation for English learners' with AI. This might actually be perfect for 'casual learners' like me.
💡 'Speak and Draw' Image English Conversation
The method is quite simple. 'Read an English prompt aloud to the image generation AI, input it, and enjoy the resulting image.' That's all there is to it!
Since the goal of this English learning is output, I click the microphone icon 🎙️ and input the English via voice. (If I end up copy-pasting, I'll reflect on it 😂)
I've been using 'Super Whisper' lately instead of 'AQUA Voice'.
I really like it because it allows for bullet points and bilingual English-Japanese text.
Even though I think, 'This doesn't solve anyone's problems and might just be my own self-satisfaction...', I can't help but feel that the essence of English learning is hidden in this method.
Don't you have them on your bookshelves too? 'Vocabulary books for learning through images.' I am no exception; I bought several, lined them up, felt satisfied, and I don't remember picking them up in the last few years 😂. So, instead of trying to get motivated, I decided to force AI into my English learning as usual.
🛠️ Practice: Putting a Park Scene into Words
For example, try imagining a situation like this.
'A young woman is sitting on a bench in the park reading a book.'
I will convey this in English and turn it into an image. Since I'm a casual learner, I'm using Google Translate for the English.
"A young woman is sitting on a bench in the park reading a book. Please create an image of this scene."
I'll try talking to Gemini using English voice input 🎙️.

It's rare to get the ideal image on the first try, but that's where the real fun begins! If you make small corrections, you can continue using simple English.
"Change the color of the bench to red." (Change the bench to red)

Next, I'll try swapping the person.
Introducing Erika, a Japanese office lady! I drew her wearing a suit with cat ears and a pencil skirt, sitting on a red bench and reading a book. Please use the attached woman to draw her.
Please use the attached woman to draw her.

The composition has changed, but the person has changed in a similar scene.
Describing pictures is a staple in Eiken and TOEIC listening and speaking tests.
While hardcore learners might study intensely with textbooks, my recommendation is the step of 'your own words (Japanese)' -> 'your own English' -> 'visualization (AI image)'. I believe that the experience of explaining in your own words and having it actually appear as a picture before your eyes is much easier to remember than flipping through a textbook.
✨ The 'delicious' benefits of this learning method
The benefits of using AI go beyond simple studying.
Practical benefits: Speaking is directly linked to the visible result of 'image creation'.
Engraved in the brain: In the process of repeating corrections, thinking, imaging, and verbalizing are tightly connected.
And above all... you can look cool!: Casually using English to create AI images in front of family and friends. This is my biggest motivation (lol).
The 'visualization' that the vocabulary books I gave up on were aiming for, combined with speaking practice, and Chappy (ChatGPT) or Gemini will happily accompany you. Don't you think this is something you could keep up with?
🚀 Finally: Aiming for unproductive (?) joy
My current goal is to intentionally create long, complex prompts and read them aloud repeatedly until I can say them fluently.
And then, when family or friends are around, I can say 'Just watch,' recite the English fluently, and instantly show them a beautiful image... I am enjoying chatting with AI again today to taste that ultimate 'unproductive (but super fun)' joy.
Hardcore learners, please laugh and scroll past. To my comrades who 'somehow want to enjoy English with AI!', why not start 'image English conversation' with me?
