A Single Seed Sown for the Future

“I want to start something.”
Even though you feel that way,
there are times when you just can't
take that first step.
What if I fail?
It would be embarrassing if I couldn't keep it up.
It might be too late
to start now.
When such anxiety spreads in your heart,
we end up
worrying about a future that hasn't even happened yet
and become unable to move.
However,
even big dreams
start from just a tiny
first step.
A small step is
a single seed
sown in the soil of the future.
Even if you look at the soil where you just sowed the seed,
you can't see anything there.
“Will it really sprout?”
“Won't everything stay
the same as it is?”
There will be days when you feel anxious like that.
Reading one page of a book.
Contacting someone
you wanted to see.
Writing down what you want to do
in a notebook.
Practicing for just five minutes
every day.
Going to bed a little
earlier today.
Telling someone, “Please help me.”
None of these
might immediately
change your life
in a big way.
However,
each and every one of them
becomes an important seed
sown for the future.
Just because you sow a seed,
it doesn't mean a flower will bloom
the next day.
Giving it water,
letting it have light,
and sometimes enduring rain and wind,
it will grow slowly.
Dreams and goals are the same.
Just because results don't
appear immediately,
it doesn't mean
nothing is growing.
In a place invisible to the eye,
your experiences are becoming roots,
your efforts are becoming stems,
and the words of the people you met
are becoming light.
It is okay if there are days
when you take a break.
If you try to give it too much water
every day,
it will actually become painful.
Just a little bit today.
On days you can,
do what you can.
You just need to continue
at your own pace.
There is no need to compare
it with someone else's flower.
There are flowers that bloom early,
and there are flowers that take
a long time to bloom.
There are flowers that bloom in spring,
and there are flowers that bloom
after surviving the cold winter.
You have
your own season
to bloom.
Even if you feel like
nothing has changed
right now,
it is okay not to be impatient.
Today's small step
will never
be in vain.
The single seed you sowed
by gathering your courage
is extending its roots toward the future
in places you don't know.
And someday,
when you happen to look back,
you will realize.
“I'm glad I started
that day.”
“That small step
was connected to this.”
What changes your life
is not just special talent
or big decisions.
It is to keep repeating
small steps that no one notices,
without giving up.
What kind of seed
will you sow in the future

It doesn't have to be
something grand.
Look up one thing
you were curious about.
Open your notebook
one page.
Say
thank you.
Walk outside
a little bit.
Such small actions
might one day
make a flower of hope bloom
in your future.
It is okay not to be impatient.
It is okay even if
you can't see anything yet.
Please believe in

you sowed today.
That seed is surely,
quietly starting to grow
toward a future that is uniquely yours.
