The ski camp in Echigo-Yuzawa has started.

Steering Strategy Camp ① [December 17 (Wed) - 19 (Fri), 2025]

Report.

The first lesson in Echigo-Yuzawa has begun!
Since Nakazato Ski Resort is scheduled to open on December 20 (Sat),
this camp held its lessons at Kagura Ski Resort.

Snow arrived early this year and there seems to have been regular snowfall,
so Kagura Ski Resort is already in very good condition.
Since we can ski all the way down to the Mitsumata area,
we were able to follow a pattern of doing basic practice in the Mitsumata area in the morning,
and then heading to the Kagura area in the afternoon to try out basic movements under slightly more difficult conditions.

The Kagura area has many steep courses,
and thanks to the low temperatures, the snow can sometimes become hard and challenging, so it is very nice to be able to practice calmly in the Mitsumata area.

If we only had the Kagura area at the start of the season, it would be a bit tough... sweat
It was lucky that there was a place where we could practice calmly.

The Mitsumata area was very crowded with many inbound beginners and novices from overseas,
but the Kagura area was very empty.
Although the slopes are difficult, there were very few people, so we were able to conduct the lesson slowly without worrying about our surroundings.

The Panorama Course is also open!

Although it was sunny on the first day, it felt very cold.
Due to the snow that fell during the night, the trees were covered in snow on the second day.
On both days,
the Kagura area was more comfortable despite the lower temperatures.
Perhaps because the Mitsumata area is at a lower altitude and has higher humidity, the perceived temperature might have felt lower than the actual temperature, making it feel very cold.

A sign that serves as a guide for snow depth.
There is already this much snow accumulated.

As you can see,
it is not just about being cold or warm depending on the temperature,
but the cold you feel varies depending on the amount of moisture in the air,
so dressing for the mountains is difficult.

When going to Kagura Ski Resort, I recommend bringing spare items in your backpack, such as extra clothing or gloves, so you can change according to the cold!

The final day had a clear blue sky.
It was a comfortable day of skiing.

There were few participants in this camp, so we were able to have thorough lessons. There were some people who were skiing for the first time this season, but I think they were able to enjoy skiing calmly.

Thank you very much for participating this time as well.

Nakazato Ski Resort is scheduled to open this weekend.
Hoping that it can open as planned...
