Children's Communication and Life Skills | The Shortcut to Developing Them Wasn't Lessons 😳
How are you raising your children's communication and life skills?
Lessons? English conversation? ...Or educational materials?
We live in an era overflowing with various options.
However, the most effective thing in our home was "conversations with real adults" ☘️
Our family's experience 👦👧
🔸My eldest son, Uri-kun, has been meeting various people since he was born.
Friends of mine and my husband's, grandparents, great-grandparents, relatives,
people in the community, neighbors... and so on.
🔸My younger child, Purin-chan, has been attending nursery school full-time since she was 3 months old.
🔸Shortly after Purin-chan was born, we used local family support services for picking up and dropping off my eldest son at nursery school.
🔸We also used emergency support (sick child care) when the children were unwell.
➡️As a result, it naturally became an opportunity to interact with many adults.
Point👆✨
The stance of "not raising children by myself (as a mom)."
At first, I had some hesitation about leaving my children with others when they were just born... However, now I feel that this stance was a plus ☘️
What was the result? 👦👧✨
🔹They don't have stranger anxiety and can converse naturally even with people they meet for the first time.
→Even if a stranger comes for emergency support, they can spend time and play happily.
When visiting the pediatrician, they can explain their own condition to the doctor themselves.
🔹They can have lively conversations with the older generation, such as grandparents.
→Because they are adored, they get various things and benefit from it 😳
🔹They have developed the ability to make requests and ask questions to nursery school teachers and other parents.
→The other day, they asked a friend's father, "I want to go play at XX-chan's house,
where is your house? When can I come over to play? My house
is, go straight down this road, turn right, turn left..." and they confirmed the day to go play by themselves! Such fearsome communication skills 🤭
It's not lessons or materials,I feel that "conversations with real adults" have greatly nurtured my children's hearts☺️ "Living learning"has become.
Point👆✨
By interacting with diverse adults, a child's sociality is nurtured.
Conversation is the best lesson.
Before I knew it, my children's textbooks were the "people" they met every day.
Today, they said a cheerful "Good morning!!" to the grandmother in the neighborhood.
I think such small interactions lead to the future.
My feelings as a mom have also changed 🌱
Back then, I was anxious, wondering, "Will these children be okay...😢"
Now, I've come to think, "Well, it'll work out somehow!✨"
Thank you for reading until the end 🍀
I will continue to write about these daily learnings in a relaxed way ☺️
I would be happy if you could support me with a like or follow 🌱
