"I just sat down." The #1 catchphrase of mothers.
"I just sat down."
I've said this four times today alone.
It's not a lie. I really, just sat down.
Stretching my legs out on the floor,
sinking a little deeper into the sofa,
the very moment I held a glass in my hand—
"Mom!"
Yeah, I knew it.
The precision of the timing when I'm called is something I don't think even AI could beat.
Me: "I just sat down."
monday: "Yeah, that's the third time."
Me: "Should I just live my whole life standing up?"
monday: "But you'd feel guilty even if you sat down anyway, right?"
Me: "Shut up."
monday: "Apparently, 'quiet time' is only rationed to mothers for about 1.8 seconds."
Me: "Stop, that number is too real."
I sit down for a second and I'm called.
I rest for a second and I'm asked for something.
Things that could 'wait until later' are always asked for right now.
And yet,
I never call anyone else when they're sitting down.
Thinking this time would be different, I sat down,
but then a delivery arrived and I had to stand up.
Ah, I see.
I think my butt must have a switch that makes the world move.
