Our family of three tries Pikmin for the first time

We went shopping at Aeon yesterday.
At the Aeon game corner, they were having a special New Year's sale where you could get two games for 10,000 yen from a specific selection. Since both 'Pikmin 4,' which I knew our child would love, and 'Dragon Quest I & II,' which my husband has been wanting for a long time, were included, we decided to go for it!
We managed to get the games we wanted at a great price, and we returned home feeling incredibly happy.
When we showed them to our child, they had never seen a game before, so they were completely bewildered and didn't seem to understand what they were even after opening the package.
When I told them, 'If you put the software into the machine, you can play Pikmin,' they were naturally super excited and shouted, 'I want to play Pikmin!' so the three of us tried playing it for the first time together!

Our three-year-old, who wants to do everything, had never even touched a controller before, but they gave it a brave try.
It goes without saying that they couldn't walk while changing the camera angle, so they kept bumping into walls over and over (like life's obstacles), and the Pikmin were bumping into walls too (physically, within the game), while we pulled out Pikmin, searched for treasure, and broke pots.
My husband set the enemy difficulty to the lowest level so the Pikmin wouldn't get defeated too easily even when our child insisted on doing everything themselves. Thanks to that, we could explore without being unnecessarily scared of the enemies, so it was fun just watching.

I've told our child, 'You can't play games unless you're with Dad.'
That's because I'm so bad at games that it's actually scary.
Even so, I thought I might be able to handle the easy version of Pikmin.
I proudly took on the fifth day, but my progress was only 2%.
I was playing with our child for part of it, but still, that's way too little progress.
The reason this happened is super simple: I got lost on the first map.
Along with being bad at games, I have a terrifyingly bad sense of direction.
I'm the type who walks into a shop on a shopping street and doesn't know which way I came from once I step back out.
Is it Zoro, Ryoga, me, or someone else? (That's pretty old.)

It might sound truly nonsensical, but even if someone tells me, 'Just walk straight from here and you'll arrive,' I'll get lost if I don't use a mobile navigation app the first time.
As expected, I got lost and lost again in the game, and ended up truly unable to return to base.
Time ran out after just having them carry materials to build a bridge and collecting one piece of treasure.
It was impossible for me, so I asked my husband for help, and he found the way in two seconds by looking at the map, so I think my husband is a god.
Our family's Pikmin story (or at least mine) started in a flurry.
From now on, we'll only have time to play during lunch today or on weekends after I'm discharged, but I want to make slow progress and save Olimar soon.

It's going to get harder and harder, and I've realized that zero deaths is impossible, so I'll do my best to save as many Pikmin as I can.
Right now, we can only grow Red and Yellow Pikmin, and we can only take Red, Yellow, and Ice types with us, so I want to meet all the Pikmin types today.
Well then, time to enjoy it today too!!!

[Things I've made recently]

I made a scarf using yarn I bought at Ichikawa's bulk sale.
It's quite warm, and because I knitted it in black and dark brown (with glitter), it's easy to wear anywhere while still being a nice accent piece, so I really love it!
Using a size 10 crochet hook, I did a chain stitch until it was a little longer than my height (about 155 stitches for 160 cm), then from there, the first row was all single crochet, the second row was all double crochet, and for the third row, I did a double crochet only on the very edge -> skip one stitch, then double crochet, chain, double crochet in the third stitch (making an inverted triangle). From there, I just kept repeating skipping two stitches and doing a double crochet, chain, double crochet (inverted triangle) in the next stitch, and finally skipped one stitch and did a double crochet.
I repeated the second row (double crochet only) and the third row (simple pattern row) until it was a good length, ending with a double crochet row, and then finished by doing single crochet into the top of every double crochet.
It's very rough and easy to knit, so please give it a try!
