On May 7, 2026, Germany's Siemens announced a US$50 million (approximately 7.5 billion yen) minority investment in and strategic partnership with the U.S.-based Xometry. By integrating Xometry's AI procurement intelligence into Siemens Xcelerator, it will become possible to know in real-time how much a part costs and when it can be procured directly within the design tool.

Xometry is a global marketplace that uses AI to match the ordering and fulfillment of custom manufactured parts. Simply uploading a 3D CAD file completes manufacturability assessment, instant quoting, and supplier matching. It has a network of over 5,000 suppliers in more than 50 countries worldwide and supports diverse manufacturing methods such as CNC machining, injection molding, sheet metal, and 3D printing.
With this integration, Xometry's manufacturability assessment, cost intelligence, and procurement functions will be embedded within Siemens' suite of CAD and PLM tools (Xcelerator). Designers will be able to proceed with their designs while checking part manufacturing costs, potential suppliers, and lead times in real-time without leaving the screen.
Siemens already possesses Supplyframe, an intelligence platform for electronic component design and procurement. With the addition of Xometry, the digital thread from design to procurement, covering both electronic components (Supplyframe) and machined parts (Xometry), is now complete.
