And, Breaking Free from Power Spot Dependency
Setting aside those who visit power spots just because it's trendy,
among those who visit power spots,
perhaps, like my past self,
there are a certain number of people who have a strong desire
to be 'the chosen one'.
For example, me.
The moment I learned that the deity enshrined at a shrine I happened to stop by
was a princess,
'Maybe I have a connection to this place.'
'Maybe I am a reincarnation.'
And from there, a drama in my brain begins.
Everyone thinks,
'There must be some great role for me.'
But rather than a sense of mission,
it's more like seeking the possibility of a life-changing turnaround,
a gold rush,
an American dream,
it's closer to that.
Nowadays,
the desire to be reincarnated in another world.
I won't end up like this.
There's no way I'll end up with this current evaluation.
Things should balance out somewhere.
Since I've suffered,
I should be entitled to a reward.
I also had a strong victim mentality.
Things that didn't go well.
Efforts that weren't rewarded.
Time that wasn't understood.
While counting those somewhere in my heart,
'Since I've suffered this much,
it's about time I received a big reward.'
I probably also had a desire to receive that revelation,
so I went to power spots
trying to increase my power.
I just
wanted to be rewarded.

Searching for another power spot
But the cause of this dependency
was entirely a problem with my own brain structure,
it wasn't that I lacked energy,
nor that I lacked faith.
My brain, carrying a sense of lack,
was just searching for a meaningful story.
Because humans seek meaning,
and because we are creatures that feel temporarily at ease
if we can feel the meaning of our existence in this world.
But, only temporarily
The head priest of a temple I visited before once said,
"Humans are creatures of worldly desires.
If you were to lose all your worldly desires, you'd become a god
and would have no choice but to ascend to heaven."
Yes, as long as we are alive,
we end up searching for meaning.
But looking back at my past self now,
I can even find it a little funny.
It's not that I wanted to be a chosen one
and save the world.
It's not that I wanted to be the reincarnation of someone
and be given a mission.
I wanted to find meaning in my existence now.
I wanted to feel special.
Truly, that was all it was.
I don't go to power spots anymore.
The result?
No big reward came.
At least, the kind of miracle I wished for,
where my life would be turned upside down in a flash,
did not happen.
I didn't win the lottery.
No billionaire who says they love me has appeared.
I didn't receive some mysterious revelation saying,
"You are the reincarnation of so-and-so."
But, something else happened instead.
I tidied up my home.
I changed the lighting.
I put out scents I like.
I reduced the stress in my field of vision.
By changing my environment like that,
I became able to feel happier
than I was back then.
At the very least, that mysterious sense of impatience and
feeling of lack have vanished.
It's because by tidying up, my brain became quiet.
Now,
I don't want to be chosen,
nor do I want some grand mission.
Feeling "Ah, I'm happy" every day,
that is enough.
Although no big reward came,
there is a quiet recovery every day.
Perhaps,
the miracle I wanted back then
might have been this.
What needs to be changed
is what is often said in spiritual circles:
reality doesn't change.
Only the way you see it changes.
In other words, when you change your perspective,
your reality will truly change.
And what creates the space to change your perspective is
peace of mind.
What creates that peace of mind is
turning your home, where you spend every day, into a power spot,
and turning your car and your office into power spots.
Instead of seeking it outside, turn everything in your daily life into
a place where your energy is replenished,
into an environment where your brain can find rest...!
