[No. 9] Inquiry Problem <Gynecology: Pregnancy>
Question 9
Gynecology, 24-year-old female, height 170 cm, weight 60 kg
Medical History
Pregnant woman. Fell on stairs and injured her knee. There were no issues with the baby. She is scheduled to give birth in two weeks. She has severe knee pain and requested painkillers, as well as a laxative for constipation. The following prescription was issued.
Prescription
Rp1. Diclofenac sodium 25 mg tablet, 1 tablet, as needed for pain, 5 doses
Rp2. Magnesium oxide 250 mg tablet, 3 tablets, 3 times a day, 3 days supply
(Adjust as appropriate)
Now, what would you do for an inquiry regarding this?

The hint is to consider whether it is safe for a pregnant woman to take these.
Today, there are two choices.

Rp1.Diclofenac sodium 25 mg tablet, 1 tablet, as needed for pain, 5 doses
Rp2. Magnesium oxide 250 mg tablet, 3 tablets, 3 times a day, 3 days supply
(Adjust as appropriate)
Today's focus is here. Diclofenac sodium is a painkiller often used in gynecology, but do not misunderstand. It is contraindicated during pregnancy!
It should only be used for postpartum pain. Diclofenac, in particular, is a strong painkiller.
In contrast, magnesium oxide has relatively little effect on pregnant women, so it is also the first choice as a laxative.
Some drugs have a risk of teratogenicity for pregnant women, so be sure to check carefully. Also, do not just assume everything is bad because of potential teratogenicity; consider the benefits as well.
If you are unsure, check with the doctor, just in case.
See you next time! Please be sure to watch tomorrow as well.
If this was even a little helpful, please like and followthank you very much🙇!
