Why my note didn't sell well | 5 'Immediate Improvement Points' asked to AI/ChatGPT [Includes checklist for beginners] [Day 23]

Introduction | The reality of my 23rd day of the note sales challenge

Day 23 of my paid note creation and sales challenge.

I wrote in my previous article that not a single copy had sold, but since then, two have sold. Also, another one sold after that, so as of writing this article, about three have sold.

However, since they didn't sell right away, I thought about that, asked ChatGPT for improvement measures, and gave it some thought.

By the way, here is the paid note ↓

Of course, I intended to put in effort to get people to buy it, and I thought about the title and structure to some extent. But the result was...

'Why won't it sell?'

When I threw that question at AI, 'improvement points' that I couldn't easily notice on my own became visible. In this article, I will share information useful for those who want to sell notes from now on, while introducing the 'reasons why it won't sell' and 'improvement methods' analyzed by AI.

1. Background on why the note didn't sell well

What I have written so far are collaborative articles with ChatGPT regarding side hustles and information dissemination.
It is content that I researched and thought about with ChatGPT on the theme of 'How can a note beginner write and sell a paid note?'

I intended to write the text to be somewhat easy to understand, and I had also set an eye-catching image.

But it didn't sell well.

I couldn't really tell what was wrong based on my own subjective view alone.

2. Results of asking AI why it didn't sell (5 immediate improvement points)

When I asked ChatGPT 'Why didn't it sell?', it pointed out the following 5 points.

① Who it is for is unclear

The reader target was vague, and it was difficult to tell 'whether it is a note necessary for me' or not.

② The title is weak

The title lacked 'concreteness' or 'benefits,' and there is a possibility that it is hard to click.

③ The introduction is long and blurry

A structure with a high risk of people stopping reading within the first few lines.

4. The content is generic and not differentiated from others

If it's no different from content you can read for free online, there's no reason to go out of your way to buy it.

5. Weak call to action (doesn't say to buy it)

There is no clear path, such as "Please buy this" or "Recommended for these types of people."

3. Applying this to myself and how I want to improve

After being told by AI, when I re-read my own note...

  • The title was abstract

  • The introduction was rambling, and the conclusion was put off

  • I hadn't actually made it clear who I was writing for

I realized these fatal points.

Going forward, I want to make the following improvements:

  • Change the title to "Keywords readers might search for" + "Benefit-oriented"

  • Write the "conclusion and reader benefits" in the first 3 lines

  • Clearly state "who this note is for" at the beginning

4. [For beginners] Checklist for a note that sells

I will structure my future notes based on the following checklist.

  • ✅ Target is clear (can say who it's for in one word)

  • ✅ Title has specificity and benefits

  • ✅ Grab the reader's interest in the first 3 lines

  • ✅ The paid section has "value that cannot be obtained for free"

  • ✅ Clearly communicate the 'reason to buy' to the people you want to buy it

Beginners tend to write 'just because,' but in reality, the best-selling notes have precise structures and intentions.

5. How to improve in the future

It was a shock to write a note that didn't sell, but conversely, it was a major gain to have it become clear 'what I might need to fix to make it sell.'

From now on, I will continue to rewrite and publish new notes while keeping in mind:

  • Titles that are search-conscious

  • Conclusion-first structure

  • Presenting a clear target reader

I will continue to rewrite and publish new notes while keeping these in mind.

Summary | The 'experience of not selling' was the best teaching material

When not a single copy of my note sold, I honestly felt depressed, thinking, 'Maybe I don't have any talent.'
But through the AI's advice, I realized that 'there are certain patterns to why things don't sell.'

And I learned that if you know those patterns and improve them one by one, anyone can get closer to the 'selling side' step by step.

I hope this article serves as a hint for those who are struggling in the same way.
