Unko Drill and Fujitsu Collaboration?! Learn How to Interact with AI During Winter Break!

Hello!
This is the Fujitsu note editorial department.
Before we knew it, there are only about three weeks left this year.
Have you decided how you will spend your winter break?
It's cold and you don't want to go outside, you have work but the kids are on winter break... for times like these, we recommend“Fujitsu x Unko Drill: How to Interact with AI”.
Do you know about that“Unko Drill” that became a huge hit as soon as it was released and is still popular, which Fujitsu collaborated with to create a drill for learning about AI in a fun way?
In September 2023, as part of our community activities leading to“the development of a digital society,” which is one of our materialities, Fujitsu collaborated with Bunkyosha to produce the learning drill“Fujitsu x Unko Drill: How to Interact with AI” for elementary school students to learn about AI in a fun way. It is being used at educational institutions and client sites (click here for booklet downloads and activity details).
Also, on Sunday, October 29, we held aFujitsu x Unko Drill “Let’s Learn How to Interact with AI” hands-on workshop for elementary school students at the Kusunoki Festival* held at Fujitsu Solution Square.
* Kusunoki Festival: A festival held annually by Fujitsu for the purpose of interacting with local residents (events such as a “Running Class” by the Fujitsu Track and Field Team and sports experiences like American football are also held)
This time, with the goal ofproviding children who will lead the next generation with an opportunity to learn the role of AI, the Fujitsu Design Center and the General Affairs Division Community Promotion Office planned a parent-child participation workshop where theycould think about how to interact with AI while actually experiencing it. In the workshop, we used theconversational generative AI available on theFujitsu Research Portal published by Fujitsu.

Feedback from participating children
・I had never talked to AI before, so it was good. It was myfirst time in my life.・AI didn't have a desire to conquer the world. It
wasn't like in anime.・It was fun talking to AI for the first time. It knew a lot of things.・Make sure you learn about trains.
・Since it gave me so many answers,
I can't fully trust that they are correct.・It is important to think for yourself without relying entirely on AI.

Feedback from participating parents
・I was able to reaffirm that it is necessary to verify information yourself rather than taking what you find with AI at face value.
・My child really enjoyed it. Since Unko Drill is familiar, it was easy for both me and my child to get into.
・We haven't had many opportunities to interact with AI together as a family, so this was great.
・It was great to be able to use a chat system unique to Fujitsu. I also learned about the "Fujitsu Research Portal" for the first time.
・I think my child will have more opportunities to interact with AI in the future, so it was good to have an opportunity to think about AI. I feel like I found answers on how to interact with AI.

In this workshop, we were able to use Unko Drill as an entry point to help children learn about Fujitsu and create a new touchpoint for parents and children to think about how to interact with AI.
This time, it was so well-received that it reached capacity in no time due to high interest from parents, so we are considering rolling it out at events across the country in the future!
