【本文】
嵯峨野の天山の湯には，金閣の湯と銀閣の湯がある。金閣の湯については3月12日のコラムに書いた。銀閣の湯は炭酸泉の湯で，今は土日に炭酸泉が利用できるようになっている。

　天山の湯の炭酸泉は，炭酸ガスを含んだ天然温泉に人工的に作られた炭酸ガスが混ぜられ，高濃度炭酸泉となっている。炭酸泉のメカニズムは，炭酸ガスが皮膚の表面にある角質層を膨張させることによって，皮膚の血行を促進し，炭酸ガスが皮膚に浸透すると炭酸イオンが発生し，皮膚のpH値を下げることができる。このpH値の変化が皮膚の細胞の代謝を活性化させ，皮膚の保湿効果を高めるという。

炭酸泉の効能は，美肌効果，疲労回復効果，自律神経調整効果，創傷治癒効果である。

The Tenzan no Yu hot spring in Sagano has two types of hot springs, the Kin-kaku no Yu and the Gin-kaku no Yu. The Kin-kaku no Yu was mentioned in the column on March 12th. The Gin-kaku no Yu is a carbonated hot spring and is now available on weekends.

The carbonated hot spring at Tenzan no Yu is a high-concentration carbonated spring created by mixing artificially made carbon dioxide with natural hot springs containing carbon dioxide. The mechanism of carbonated springs is that carbon dioxide expands the stratum corneum on the surface of the skin, promoting blood circulation in the skin. When carbon dioxide penetrates the skin, carbonic acid ions are generated, which can lower the pH of the skin. This change in pH activates cell metabolism and enhances the moisturizing effect of the skin.

The benefits of carbonated springs include improving skin, recovering from fatigue, regulating the autonomic nervous system, and promoting wound healing.
