４年ぶりの葵祭の行列：2023年3月30日（木）

5月15日（月），4年ぶりに葵祭の行列が開催予定。平安時代の装束をまとった約8kmの道のりを練り歩くが，今年は講義のためテレビ録画での観覧となりそうだ。

【本文】
5月15日（月）に4年ぶりに葵祭の路頭の儀（行列）が行われる予定だ。京都御所の建礼門前を出発して，下鴨神社を経て上賀茂神社まで全長約8kmの道のりを平安時代の王朝装束と葵の葉を纏いながらのゆっくりとした行列の風景を見ることができる。

　以前，上賀茂橋あたりの加茂街道沿いに住んでいた頃は直に見物していたこともあったが，コロナ禍の前でも見物する機会がほとんどなくなっていた。

　今年も大学の講義が予定されており，葵祭の行列はテレビで収録された録画を見ることになりそうだ。

The Aoi Matsuri Procession Returns After Four Years: Thursday, March 30, 2023

Summary
On Monday, May 15, the Aoi Matsuri procession is scheduled to take place for the first time in four years. The slow-moving parade, featuring Heian-period court costumes and adorned with hollyhock leaves, travels approximately 8 kilometers from the Kenreimon Gate of the Kyoto Imperial Palace, through Shimogamo Shrine, to Kamigamo Shrine. However, due to university lectures, I will likely watch the recorded broadcast on television this year.

Main Text
After a four-year hiatus, the "Roto no Gi" (procession) of the Aoi Festival is scheduled to take place on May 15th(Monday). The procession will start from the front of the "Kenreimon" gate at the Kyoto Imperial Palace, pass through Shimogamo Shrine, and arrive at Kamigamo Shrine, covering a total distance of about 8 kilometers. During the procession, participants will wear costumes from the Heian period imperial court and adorn themselves with Aoi leaves, creating a slow and elegant spectacle.

In the past, when I lived near the Kamigamo Bridge along Kamogawa Road, I had the opportunity to watch the procession in person, but even before the coronavirus pandemic, there were hardly any chances to do so.

This year, with university lectures scheduled, it seems that I will have to watch a recorded broadcast of the Aoi Festival procession on TV.
