Delicious High Tea and a Promise to Weave
I want to drink delicious tea and chat in a relaxed way.
Afternoon tea is the first thing that comes to mind, but sometimes there are people in the group who aren't big on sweets, or it might be a time of day when we want a hearty meal.
High tea is perfect for times like that.
As a treat for the start of the Obon holidays, I enjoyed high tea with my friends.
High Tea

High tea is great, isn't it?
I love sweets, so I love afternoon tea too, butI'm at an age where I appreciate a higher ratio of savory to sweet items...
As you can see in the photo, every tier had savory items that went well with tea and alcohol, and it was all delicious!

Terrine, prosciutto-wrapped muscat grapes, carpaccio, taramosalata, and salami.

Foie gras is so delicious.

The curry-flavored chicken is tender, and I really love this.

The meat is so tender~
The food at this high tea is all delicious. I love it.
They serve things I don't usually eat, so I get excited as I eat my way through it.

All the teas were delicious, too.
In addition to standard teas, there was an all-you-can-drink selection of various types, including tea cocktails with alcohol, masala chai, Taiwanese oolong tea, and Japanese black tea.
I'm someone who naturally consumes a lot of fluids, so I took the opportunity to try everything. Happy.
Be careful not to consume too much caffeine.

A mini parfait for dessert.
The peaches were sweet, the cream was delicious, and it was a very satisfying dessert.
I want to eat this again. But since it's likely seasonal, I'll have to plan for it.
Thank you for the meal!
A Promise to Weave and William Morris
When you eat delicious and gorgeous food, your heart and conversation brighten, and the conversation was in full bloom throughout the high tea.
The friends I met today are from my middle and high school days, and they are both very active.
■ The first one works at a design company and loves making things.
Even on her days off, she makes clothes at home, does papermaking and pottery while traveling, and makes stickers of her own drawings for her niece.
She recently bought a loom for her home. Sounds fun!
I've tried a large loom in a craft workshop before, but that feeling of setting the warp, passing the weft, and weaving steadily with a clack-clack sound is nice, isn't it?
We made the perfect plan to 'go to Yuzawaya together to pick out yarn and weave,' so I'll be weaving sometime soon!
I'm really looking forward to it~.
■ The other friend is a huge Takarazuka fan.
Her father bought an entire apartment building last year, and it seems she was studying various things for the full renovation, and it looks like they've successfully reached the point of completion.
Wow... that's on a huge scale... It's a world I'll never be involved in.
It seems it was difficult to arrange the renovation during the time when the naphtha shortage was most talked about, but she never missed her Takarazuka trips even then, so her vitality is amazing.
She's going to live in one of the apartment units, and she said, 'I love William Morris, so I arranged the room I'm living in with that image in mind.'
Isn't it the best to be able to use your favorite wallpaper from corner to corner in your own home!?
When she showed me the photos, the bedroom was purple and white, the storage room was green, the restroom had Morris-style fruit wallpaper, and so on, making it a flashy and cute room.
She looked so happy saying, 'I like things to be cluttered,' which was cute.
I want to give her a housewarming gift that matches her flashy and cute room.
Every time I meet my friends, I think about how everyone has their own life.
Everyone works different jobs and has their own hobbies.
We are living separate lives.
And it might be different from the future we each envisioned back in middle and high school.
Hearing about each other's lives like that, even now that we're adults, is always fresh and interesting.
Even if it's difficult to meet frequently, I want to cherish my connections with my friends, increase the opportunities to meet up easily, and talk about all sorts of things.
