The day a shut-in spent a busy day for the first time in a while
As you can tell from the title, I work from home, so I usually stay cooped up in my house.
It's not uncommon for me to go days without seeing the sun.
However, I had such a busy day today for the first time in a while that I decided to pick up my smartphone and write a blog post while I was at it.
I would be happy if you could join me.
Originally, my only plan for today was to go to the dentist in the afternoon.
It's a wonderful dental clinic where they treat you with great care, and I've decided that's where I'll go if I need my teeth checked, but it's in a location that's hard to get to without a car.
I have strabismus, which causes double vision, so I'm too scared to drive.
That's why I often ask my family to take me.
Then my mother said,
"Why don't you come to a calligraphy exhibition with me? It seems like we could go before your dentist appointment."
She invited me.
It was my first time at a calligraphy exhibition, and honestly, I had no interest in calligraphy at all.
But my mother's invitations always broaden my horizons, so I decided to go along with her this time too.
And then, the morning of the day.
First, I woke up at 9:00 AM.
I actually wanted to wake up at 8:30.
I went to bed at 5:00 AM.
At this point, I thought to myself, am I an idiot?
I was so sleepy.
I'm usually bad at waking up because of my low blood pressure, but I only torture myself like this when I have plans.
Like arriving three minutes late to the auditorium on the day of an important exam.
I really am contrary.
And I think I put on makeup for the first time in about a month.
It had been such a long time that I almost forgot the steps, so I carefully, very carefully, remembered them one by one, recalling makeup videos I'd seen recently.
I played videos of my favorite idol as background music to clear the sleepiness from my head.
And then, toward the end of my makeup routine.
Just as I was about to draw my eyebrows, my favorite idol made me laugh.
Even though I've watched it many times, I was completely taken in and laughed,
and my eyebrow got messed up.
I started laughing at that too, and couldn't help but report it to a friend.
The trouble is, the charm of my favorite idol is truly great, honestly.
Then, in the car on the way to the calligraphy exhibition.
Looking at the convex mirror from the passenger seat,
"My cheeks have been sagging lately... I look like an old lady,"
I muttered, and my mother laughed and said,
"That's because you don't talk much lately. You need to use your facial muscles more,"
giving me some valuable advice.
Here, too, are the ill effects of working from home and being a shut-in.
However, no matter what the ill effects are, I love my home, so I won't be giving that up.
So, I kept my hands on my cheeks and manually lifted them up the whole way there.
I hope the No. 9 from numbuzin that I bought during the Q10 Mega Sale arrives soon.

And I was able to enjoy the serene atmosphere of the calligraphy exhibition held at the temple.

I couldn't really figure out how to enjoy calligraphy, but I enjoyed reading the explanations.
Among them was a piece of calligraphy with just a circle (◯) written on it.
It seems it was a depiction of an 'enso,' one of the Zen phrases that express Zen teachings or the state of enlightenment in a few words.
Probably.
I wrote this down with the help of AI for my hazy knowledge, so I apologize if it is incorrect.
At first glance, I just thought it was a beautiful circle, but after reading the explanation,
'It is actually difficult to draw a circle beautifully. If you try to draw it beautifully out of greed, it will become distorted'
or something like that was written (in reality, it was a much more polite, easy-to-understand, and solemn text).
I see, that might be true. Interesting.
I thought.
Then, when I looked at the calligraphy again, I thought it was beautiful in a different sense than when I first saw it, and I was happy to think that I could say I was enjoying calligraphy at this very moment!
Thank goodness for the explanations.
But in the end, what I remembered when I saw that circle was the movie 'Maru' starring Tsuyoshi Domoto, so it seems I'm still bad at enjoying calligraphy.
I looked it up and found it was available on Amazon Prime, so I think I'll watch it sometime.
I've been curious about it.
This is a completely different story, but besides Tsuyoshi Domoto, Go Ayano also appears in this movie.
The frequency of Go Ayano appearing in the movies and dramas I've been binge-watching lately is so high that I've even joked about it with my friends.
I couldn't help but laugh at this connection that came up again this time.
The flow of things is trying to make me a fan of Go Ayano.
And in the afternoon, I went to the dentist as planned.
I had a little bit of sensitivity, so I made an appointment with a dental hygienist, but it turns out it had been five years since my last visit.
Even so, they told me I had no cavities and no noticeable plaque, so I was just praised and that was it.
Yay for me.
And since I had gone to the trouble of putting on makeup and dressing up, I decided to go to a movie theater about a 20-minute walk from the dentist.
I like movies, but I'm not good with crowds or having strangers sitting right next to me, so whenever there's a movie I want to see, I always aim for the very end of its theatrical run.
And then, I often lose track of the timing and end up missing them.
But for this Demon Slayer movie, I decided I absolutely had to see it in a theater.
I managed to go at the perfect time, and I was already in a good mood at this point.
While waiting for the screening to start, I spent some time at my favorite Tully's with my favorite cappuccino, but actually, it had been a really long time since I'd had caffeine.
Plus, I had a sweet potato as a treat.
After ordering, I was nervous about whether the caffeine and fiber I hadn't had in a while would make my stomach act up.
Well, it turned out to be fine, though.
And then, the screening started.
Well, the movie trailers before it.
I like this time too, but there were so many things I was interested in this time, and since I'm getting tired of typing, I'll just list them in bullet points.
・Wow! Zootopia!!
・They're making a live-action 5 Centimeters per Second!? Kenshi Yonezu's song is amazing!
・A new interpretation of the Bakumatsu period!? They're doing another new interpretation!? And Tsuyoshi Muro is in it again!?
・A new film by director Mamoru Hosoda, huh.
・Wait, they're making another Madoka Magica movie?
・Wait, they're making another Avatar movie?
・I like the Wind Breaker anime.
・Zootopia!!! Can't wait!!! Nick is so cool!!!
・Wicked!!!! Can't wait!! Glinda is too cute!!!
・The movie theater etiquette video is Zootopia!!!
I really enjoyed it just from the trailers.
It was so packed.
I'm really looking forward to Zootopia and Wicked.
And then, Demon Slayer.
I'll skip the details as it might be a spoiler, but it was just so, so good...
The production that only a movie theater can provide.
Camera work that felt like it was designed for 4DX.
The god-tier background music that kicked in at the perfect moment.
From three minutes in, I was just repeating 'So cool!!!' in my head over and over.
And it started tugging at my tear ducts right away.
So cool!!
Cried.
So cool!!
Cried.
After repeating that, I was eventually desperate to hold back from crying out loud.
It was so, so good.
I want to see it in the theater again.
I feel like I say this about most of my favorite works after watching them in the theater.
I returned home still lingering in the afterglow,
put away my outing gear,
enjoyed my favorite creator's new video,
and then took a bath.
Since it takes a while to dry my hair, I always watch videos while wearing earphones, and today I decided to play Kenshi Yonezu's 1991, which had caught my attention in a movie trailer.
I love how the vocals kick in after the silence, and as I was listening, the next song that played on autoplay was a duet by Hikaru Utada and Kenshi Yonezu.
When I first heard this duet, I thought, 'They got me!'
Though I'm not sure what exactly I meant by that.
It just felt so right.
Even though their generations and everything else are completely different.
And I really love how well their singing voices complement each other.
As I was listening deeply, the next thing that played on autoplay was a live performance video by Kenshi Yonezu.
As songs I knew and songs I didn't know played on, I thought, 'Maybe I've liked Kenshi Yonezu quite a bit all along without realizing it,' and just as that thought crossed my mind, it started playing.
Peace Sign.
I absolutely love this song.
I really love that opening animation from My Hero Academia.
Kacchan stretching is just irresistible.
That got my excitement levels way up.
I was already running on four hours of sleep.
It was a rare, eventful day.
A shut-in like me even walked for 20 minutes.
I was already so incredibly sleepy even before I got in the bath.
But with the excitement and afterglow of the movie still lingering, and as I hummed along to Kenshi Yonezu's songs thinking, 'I love this!', my excitement was gradually building up.
Peace Sign sent my excitement through the roof,
and I decided, 'I spent such an eventful day, I have to write a blog post!'
As a result,
it is currently 3,200 characters long.
I don't even know what's going on anymore.
It's a question of how much I'm actually writing.
Kenshi Yonezu is a force to be reckoned with.
Thank you so much for sticking with me through this content that I just rambled on about, fueled entirely by my excitement.
Your kindness makes this Kenshi Yonezu magic-induced excitement feel worthwhile.
The sleepiness that had drifted away has returned, so I'm going to seize this moment and head to bed.
I'll say it again, thank you for sticking with me.
I hope you all have a wonderful day too.
