[Travel Log] Disney Cruise Exclusive Goods and Souvenirs! Introducing 8 Items Purchased on the Disney Wonder
Hello everyone! This is the "Couple's Gourmet & Travel Channel".
This is the 8th and final installment of our travel log for the 6-night, 7-day Disney Cruise Line Wonder sailing from Sydney, Australia. For Disney fans, choosing exclusive goods and souvenirs that can only be bought on board is a major highlight of a cruise trip. In this installment, we will objectively introduce the onboard shop system, shopping tips, and the 8 souvenirs we actually purchased.

1. Onboard Shop Hours and Shopping Tips

There are several shops on board, ranging from stores selling Disney merchandise to high-end boutiques selling watches and jewelry. However, there are "operating hour" rules that differ significantly from shops on land.
Duty-Free Rules: Since onboard shops are treated as duty-free stores, they only open when the ship is in "international waters" at a certain distance from land. Therefore, they are closed while the ship is docked at a port of call.
Dealing with Crowds and Sell-outs: Popular items like Disney Wonder exclusive goods can sell out, so it is not uncommon for queues to form as soon as the shops open. We did our shopping during quiet times to avoid the crowds, but if there is an exclusive item you absolutely must have, we recommend heading to the shop early, prepared for crowds.
2. Charming Goods We Saw On Board
The shops are packed with charming, exclusive goods.

Local exclusive goods featuring "Kangaroo and Mickey" designs, fitting for the Wonder sailing from Australia.
Headbands for Pirate Night (pirate party) and sparkly sequin headbands.
Disney Cruise Line (DCL) branded suitcases, backpacks, and apparel that is easy to wear in daily life.
Looking back, there are many items we regret not buying, so it might be best to be a little bold when shopping on board.
3. Full Reveal of Our Actual Purchases (8 Items Total)
Here are the 8 items we carefully selected and purchased.

Captain Mickey & Minnie Headband An item we decided to buy immediately because it is just too cute, with Mickey and Minnie wearing captain's hats on the ears.
"Disney Wonder" Logo Headband The perfect headband to commemorate our voyage on the Wonder.
Disney Wonder Exclusive Backpack We bought this to match the design of our headband. Since returning home, it has been very useful when visiting Disney parks and hotels in Japan.
Disney Wonder Ornament A souvenir of our voyage to display on a shelf at home. It comes in a special case because it is fragile.
Pin badges For my collection displayed on a tapestry at home. I bought the DCL logo pin and a pin for the specialty restaurant, Palo.
Countdown Cruise exclusive reversible hat An exclusive design for the 2024-2025 New Year's Eve cruise. It became my husband's favorite, and he still loves wearing it at the parks after returning home.
Magnet For my collection of ship magnets on the refrigerator. I actually wanted one for the Wonder, but I couldn't find it, so I went with the DCL logo one instead.
Extra-large soup mug with lid A large mug with a cute silicone lid. I bought it for my husband to use for soup at home.
Summary
Shopping on a Disney Cruise is an exciting experience just to look around, as there are many exclusive items. To avoid any regrets, I recommend picking up any goods you're interested in as soon as you find them.
