📓The Note of Ma Ver.23 'The Master of Silence'

— Perhaps silence is also at work —

They do not speak.

They say nothing at all.

However,

just by their presence,
one might feel a sense of relief, or
the atmosphere might settle.

We do not

interact solely through words.

Facial expressions.

Posture.

Gaze.

Breathing.

Distance.

And,

the space between.

Therefore,

to be silent is

a little different from

doing nothing.

Do not offer immediate encouragement.

Do not provide an answer.

Just being there.

By not placing words,

a space for the other person to speak
can sometimes be created.

A person who is silent and

a person who is involved while remaining silent

are slightly different.

Supporting someone just by being at their back.

Creating a sense of security through silence.

Waiting until the other person speaks.

This is, in a way,

a bit of a

'Master of Silence'.

What is important is

not whether you speak or
remain silent, but

what is needed in this
moment, in this space.
