[Sake and Snacks] Takatsu Zako | Getting tipsy on Edomae sushi with red vinegar rice and fine sake
I came to Takatsu's Zako for the first time in a while. Here, you can enjoy delicious seafood from all four seasons. Plus, the Edomae sushi with red vinegar rice prepared by the chef is exquisite.
Also, the sake lineup is very extensive. I always end up getting tipsy while snacking on delicious fish.

I ducked through the rope curtain and entered the shop. Time to drink!

First, I wet my throat with a beer. The appetizer is excellent. Simmered herring and root vegetables. The flavor of the herring and the boldly cut, tender burdock and lotus root. Nice.

Negitoro and Torotaku fillings as a snack. Enjoyed with nori wrapped in paper. Whoever invented Torotaku is definitely a genius.

Switched to Chuhai.

And then kuruma prawn boiled. With mayo or soy sauce and wasabi. Both are delicious.

My favorite, grilled squid tentacles. These short legs are... it's Japanese spineless cuttlefish today. I love Japanese spineless cuttlefish. As always, delicious. Fragrant and tender tentacles.

Something I always order when I come to Zako is the thick fried tofu. A massive amount of bonito flakes and green onions cover the piping hot thick fried tofu.

Time for sake. Started with a sake from Isehara, Kanagawa called "Afuri". It was my first time having it. Sometimes the best things are right under your nose. This is delicious sake.

Finally, sushi. A la carte.
Medium fatty tuna, Japanese cuttlefish, gizzard shad, mackerel, sea urchin, salmon roe, conger eel...I solidified it with my favorites.

Here, the ace takes the mound. My beloved Chiba's "Fudo" Junmai Ginjo. Soft water. A crisp, sharp dry finish. A faint ginjo aroma. The best.

Magnificent nigiri. Detailed and precise work on excellent toppings. Nikiri soy sauce and tsume sauce. Mellow red vinegar rice. It's perfect.

My Fudo ran out, so I had another glass. I think it was a sake from Kyoto... My memory is hazy due to intoxication. lol

Sushi and sake. I think it's the best combination that resonates with Japanese DNA. It was delicious. Happiness. Thank you for the meal.
