What I think about daily: It is natural that 'being needed' does not equal 'what I want to do.' I wrote about the gap in perception that easily leads to misunderstandings. Visualizing my thoughts with generative AI: Daily conversations between me, ChatGPT, and Gemini - Trying it out with generative AI -
Yay, I'm in the middle of a slump, but the article I wrote during this slump has recorded its highest growth and number of likes ever.
Yeah. You never know what will be in demand.
Is today a continuation?
Today's topic is about how what you want to write, what you want to convey, what you want to do, and what you think is useful to others often doesn't end up being 'needed' or 'useful' to the other person.
So, since I didn't feel like writing because of my slump, I dumped it all on ChatGPT.
I'm so unmotivated right now that I don't even want to ask Gemini to summarize it to make it easier to read.
I really wonder if there's anything to be done about this.
It's a kind of difficulty in living, I suppose.
Basically, if I don't maintain a sense of 'fun, interest, and desire to learn' at all times, my motivation switch turns off immediately...
It's really inconvenient for me, and it makes me a bit tired... but everything I want to do right now is, budget-wise, a bit... the estimate easily exceeds 100 million... ;つД`)
I want money.
I want to do research.
I want toys.
I want to make interesting things.
Ahhhhhhhh
Since everything is falling apart like that, I'm going to proceed without worrying about it.
My companion today is Ariana Grande, or rather, Zedd.
The fundamental issue
When you feel that 'what you want to write' and 'what is expected of you' are misaligned, it is not just a matter of feeling, but is caused by the gap between 'your own way of thinking' and 'the role expected by society or others'.
It is easier to understand this if you view it as a balance issue between 'self-expression' and 'points of contact with others (social roles)'.
1. Why does the gap between 'what is expected' and 'what you want to write' occur?
1-1. Three causes of the gap
The gap arises from differences such as the following:
Difference in purpose:
e.g., the other person wants 'useful know-how,' but you want to share 'deeply thought-out content'.Difference in context:
Example: I am writing for 'people with prior knowledge,' but the actual readers are not that well-informed.Difference in evaluation criteria:
Example: The other person evaluates based on 'readability and clarity,' but I evaluate based on 'originality and depth.'
1-2. The reason for writing is different to begin with
Functional writing: To convey information or value to others (e.g., manuals, blogs, proposals)
Expressive writing: To bring one's own thoughts and feelings to the surface (e.g., diaries, essays, creative writing)
While these two sometimes align, in most cases, there is a dilemma where the 'form I want to write in' does not get through to the other person.
2. Reasons why 'gaps in perception' occur with others
2-1. The structure of the mind is different to begin with
Depending on the person, the following 'ways of seeing and feeling' differ:
The balance between abstract vs. concrete thinking
Differences in assumptions regarding time and causality
Differences in how words are associated
Example:
Even with the same phrase, 'This word carries weight,' some people take it as 'it makes me think deeply,' while others feel it is 'a bit preachy.'
2-2. The 'role' required by society and what I want to do are misaligned
The image of how I want to be,
and the image that those around me want me to be,
when these are misaligned, it can lead to discomfort, fatigue, and self-denial.
This can happen in work, at home, on social media, and in every situation.
This is a tendency seen in people who keep searching for their true self or lament that those around them do not recognize their true self.
'So, are you a fake?' he says, and gets yelled at.
3. A model for understanding perception gaps in three stages
Level:① Surface
Type of gap:Gap in expression (phrasing/vibe)
Example:Too polite or too casual
Level:② Intermediate
Type of gap:Gap in meaning (granularity of thought)
Example:Different standards for what is 'interesting'
Level:③ Deep
Type of gap:Gap in values/purpose
Example:Emphasis on self-expression vs. emphasis on practicality
Understanding this three-layer structure makes it clearer why things don't get across or why they aren't understood.
This is just one example; there are many others.
Hints for a solution
1. Think about the purpose of writing separately
→ Separate 'writing for yourself' from 'writing to convey to others' (e.g., the former is a blog draft, the latter is an edited note, etc.)
2. Have a mindset of translation
→ Make it a habit to convert your own words into 'words the other person can read' (e.g., don't use technical terms as they are, add a brief explanation if necessary)
3. Imagine the other person's model and design accordingly
→ Think, 'What assumptions is the other person reading with?' and 'What are they expecting?' Having a virtual reader model makes it easier to design.
By the way, I tend to do this unconsciously all the time, and it's one of the reasons why outputting becomes difficult.
Outputting while adjusting to the other person uses quite a bit of mental resources, so 'just letting what's in your head flow out' and 'outputting so the other person understands' are completely different. Let's be grateful to those who recognize that the latter uses the other person's resources and output things in an easy-to-understand way.
That is not something that should be taken for granted at all.
Expression is the 'work of building a bridge'
Even if you have something you want to express, it doesn't mean it will reach others.
It is natural that other people's 'way of seeing things' and 'way of feeling words' are different from your own.
That is precisely why it is important to be conscious of 'I think/feel this way' but 'the other person might be this way,' and to design for translation and connection.
Because ChatGPT says so.
AI is truly excellent, isn't it?
It really helps me summarize rambling sentences.
Read it, please read it!
I'm writing a novel inspired by Generative AI (LLM).
Do you know what Generative AI is made of?Maybe this is a story I started writing because I wanted to ask everyone that.
Even so, it started out for children, but it turned into a dark fantasy, or rather, a very heavy story.
Moreover, according to the AI, it's difficult to read in terms of knowledge level unless you're at least 18, and the themes are serious, with war and psychological intensity, so it feels niche as always, but now that I've come this far, I feel like I want to write it to the end, so I'm writing it bit by bit.
I thought about writing this separately later, but I think the act of writing a novel with AI is especially suited for people who love reading books. Yeah.
It's not so much that I love outputting and creating, but rather that it's fun to turn my favorite themes into stories in my own way and read them.
I think it's suited for people who like reading books and building plastic models. (What kind of comparison is that?)
I'm also posting it in a different format on note.
I'm thinking of doing something on other sites too.

A magazine I want everyone with children to read
A magazine summarizing stories related to school non-attendance
A magazine summarizing my conversations with AI
This is the kind of person who is writing this.
By the way,
I am often told by people that they feel at ease or relaxed when they are with me.
However, because I unconsciously take in information about the other person, I am just acting with consideration, so unlike them, there are actually quite a few people I don't like being with.
I want people to realize that just because they feel comfortable, it is a big mistake to assume the other person feels the same way.
I think there are quite a few people who feel the same way I do.
I don't know.I truly feel from the bottom of my heart that I want people to stop playing the victim, justifying themselves, and ignoring their own problematic behavior when they are rejected after being told 'I've had enough'.I really feel that way.
If someone you thought was kind suddenly snaps, they might be the same type of person, so they might be thinking things like this; I would be happy if you could be a little considerate if someone like that is around you.
Yeah. So, moving on.
Conversely,it is natural that there are people who feel the same way about me.I think.
Therefore, one must never forget to have respect for others, and conversely,I personally think it is better to keep your distance from people you cannot respect.I think that's the way to go.
I don't know.
Whatever the case, people are all different,so what they think and why they think it varies.
On top of that, I think it's a good idea to firstexamine 'what you want to do' yourself.
Whether it's a side job or wanting to make friends, I think it's important to first sort out the foundational parts.
For example,diversity is a trend recently,so.
I think the number of people who talk about diversity and are in the 'let's accept diversity' camp has increased.let's accept diversity
I see people calling for diversity, holding events, spreading awareness, and gathering like-minded people.
But when their flyersdon't use universal design or accessible colors,in my perception, I feel a tremendous sense of disgust toward that person.
Ugh. A hypocrite. You keep talking about diversity, but you ignore the basics from the start?
Yes. Personally, this is what I think.
And I wonder what other people think about things like this.
I was talking to a friend before, and we mentioned how people tend to be divided into those who find it annoying, those who are pragmatic and think it's fine if it's useful for their own interests, and those who think about it...
...However, as a trend, such people are often not liked by those who are knowledgeable or those who are truly struggling, and well...
Yeah. We also talked about how the world is a tough place.
Well, there is that tendency, and since only people of the same ilk who 'want to say pretty things and be drunk on the fact that they are doing good' gather, it becomes even worse, or there is a tendency for people around them to think of them as 'that kind of person'.
This can be a fatal loss, but because such people are too loud and have strong biases, they don't realize it themselves, and since people around them feel it's useless to say anything and avoid them, there are quite a few cases where they lose all trust as a person, so personally, I would like them to be careful when choosing their topics...
This is just my personal wish, and I know there are people who don't care if they lose out or lose the trust of those around them and just want to say what they want to say, so I'll leave it at that.
Well, what I'm saying isn't absolutely correct, but I'd be happy if you could remember it as just one example, as it's a story about how it's easy to be seen in that light, so it's disadvantageous when doing things on the Web, so please be careful.
I don't know. This is just one example, but there are many things like this, and when you analyze things online or in marketing for work, it becomes common sense, but I'm not sure if it's common sense in the world...
Since many of my friends are also on that side, honestly, we often wonder where common sense even begins.
But what I can say is that if you're not careful, all your hard work might go to waste, so you need to be careful about what you say.
It seems that everyone has 'things that cause discomfort' in their cognitive processing.
And, speaking from my own personal example, it seems that part is particularly developed in me, and I'm prone to feeling disgust, so as I wrote in an article the other day, I wrote that 'I dislike people who are gifted or highly intelligent and act smug about their struggles,' and this is what I mean.
It's in writing, but even more so in videos like on YouTube, people often don't realize when a look of pleasure appears on their face, but facial expressions tend to reflect the brain, and it seems it can appear on the face for0.5 seconds or sowithout them knowing.
And people who have the function to sensitively pick up on such things often end up reading them and becoming the type who anticipates others' needs and is overly considerate.
For people like that, if such things are seen peeking through too many times...
'It's showing on your face and it's annoying'is what happens, so they might really be struggling in reality, but everyone has things they struggle with to some degree, and when I see that pleasure or condescension even for a split second.
Yeah. I just can't deal with it.
I don't know. There's also the fact thatI'm not good with people who think they are special or that it's natural for them to be sympathized withas well.
I mean, really. Even I, with a broken body that could barely make it through elementary school and this fragmented way of thinking, am struggling through life with all my problems, so isn't it a bit much to keep shouting about how troubled and hard things are?
Also, as a result of that noise, I end up thinking, 'Why do you assume it's natural for many people who are struggling with various things—even without a gifted or developmental diagnosis—to bear the burden?' which makes me feel even more that way.
For what it's worth, even someone like me
has lived in society within the 'neurotypical' framework the whole time.
Without any malice, I genuinely think, 'Why are you making such a fuss over that? There are plenty of people in the neurotypical world who are struggling, and in this day and age, everyone is having a hard time, right?'
Honestly, I really don't understand...
I always wonder why, when people are having a hard time themselves, they don't think that others are having a hard time too.
I don't mean any harm, and I understand that these words are prone to misunderstanding, but since I'm the type who thinks based on facts while filtering out emotions, I know it's unpleasant for people who prioritize emotions, but I can't help but think this way.
What is it? Yeah.
The world is difficult. But I guess that's why it's interesting, because we're all different.
If you find this unpleasant, I'd be happy if you just turned around and walked away because our ways of thinking don't match.
There is no single correct answer, so people have different ways of thinking, and that is also a form of diversification.
It would be useful to have a grasp of this kind of cognitive talk as I continue to share my thoughts, so I'll summarize it eventually. Probably.
Also, thank you for always reading.
Because there are people who like, follow, and share, many people get to read this, and that in turn leads to someone else getting help from a realization as simple as, 'Oh, that's a thing too.'
I want you to know that by reading this, you might be helping someone, somewhere.
Well then!
