[Mental Health] On people who can only maintain their self-worth by putting others down
There are people who will criticize even the most trivial things about someone to an excessive degree, aren't there?
Such people are empty inside and lack self-confidence, so they just observe others and look for flaws.
They pretend not to see the good points and maintain their self-esteem by labeling others with negative traits they've invented.
People who can only validate their own existence by putting others down to lift themselves up will constantly speak ill of all sorts of people.
They are critical not just of people, but also of events and things.
As time goes by, such people eventually find themselves with no one around them. This is because they become untrustworthy, as others start to wonder if they are being talked about behind their backs as well.
Some may reflect on what they did wrong and realize it after becoming isolated,
but if they don't realize it, they will either repeat the same pattern or blame the people around them.
If someone hasn't realized this even after reaching a certain age, they are likely a walking red flag. Personally, I think that anyone who continues to act this way well into adulthood is likely someone who constantly blames others for their own problems.
Therefore, interacting with such people will almost certainly leave you exhausted, so it is best to keep your distance. Protecting your own heart is the top priority.
