Life in Japan 1: Small Frustrations
Good evening ☺
Starting today, I would like to post about my daily life with a Swiss person again.
It has already been a month and a half since I started living with a Swiss person.
We spend every day together. Since he is often at home, he does quite a lot of the housework. 👨
The kitchen counter is low and difficult for him to use, so I usually handle the kitchen area, but he basically takes care of everything else.
I am working, so I am grateful for that.
Yesterday, before I went to work, I asked him to put away the dishes once they were dry since I had washed them. It wasn't urgent, so I decided not to use the dishwasher and let them air dry, assuming they would be dry after a certain amount of time.
That day, he happened to have plans to play online games with his Swiss friends, so when I got home, he was happily playing games. 🎮
When I checked the dishes, they were exactly as they were in the morning.
Deep down, I thought, 'You were home all day, you could have put them away.' 😂
I ended up putting them away while feeling irritated.
After he finished his game, he noticed that I looked unhappy.
If it were between Japanese people, I would expect them to just sense it, but he is Swiss.
He seemed to understand to some extent why I was angry, but he asked me to tell him the reason why I was in a bad mood.
When I explained it, he just said sorry. He also said that when he tried to put the dishes away, they weren't dry yet.
Usually, I would keep such small things to myself and let the frustration build up, but I realized that it is better to vent it out like this.
Since then, perhaps because he is being mindful of me, he has been working harder than before. 😂 Grateful.
I suppose this is how we compromise with each other, and the matter was settled peacefully.
Thank you for reading. Have a wonderful day today as well! ❣️❣️
