Short Story: 'The Magic of Color' #SingleColorExhibition
Every morning, I open my magic box
"Which color should I choose today?"
I say, excitedly choosing my cosmetics.
I carefully select my color-correcting primer, foundation, and highlighter based on the day's weather and my skin's condition.
I decide on my blush, lipstick, eyeliner, and eyeshadow based on my outfit and plans.
Makeup is fun precisely because the combinations are infinite.
Among them all, eyeshadow is my favorite.
Because when I open the palette, a world so colorful it feels like I could be sucked into it spreads out before me.
Even if they look like the same color, the nuances differ—pearl, glitter, or matte—and the textures vary, from powder to cream to liquid.
Even with a single color, I can change the intensity by varying where I apply it or by using different tools like brushes, sponge tips, or my fingers, coloring my eyelids sometimes vividly and sometimes delicately.
On the limited canvas of my eyelids, I apply primer, then layer on base colors, nuance colors, and defining shades.
It is profound because the atmosphere changes completely depending on the order of application and whether I create a vertical or horizontal gradient.
Lately, I've been enjoying using contrasting colors on my upper and lower eyelids.
I apply a bright, energetic tangerine color to my upper eyelid and gently add a cool, refreshing ramune-like light blue to my tear troughs. I think I'll match my eyeliner to the tangerine with a moss green.
I look at myself in the mirror and smile.
Because it looked like shaved ice, with a little bit of blue Hawaii syrup topped with plenty of tangerines.
There are days when I choose colors for someone else, but eyelids colored for my own sake are as beautiful as wings that can fly anywhere in the world.
Now, today begins again.
I participated in this event here 🤗💕
This is a piece created with the thought that
makeup is also a form of art.
