We didn't decide on a destination, but it was a proper summer vacation.

The other day, my husband had a few days off, so
"Should we go somewhere?"
we were talking about that.

But, we couldn't quite decide on a destination.

And then, the day of.
……We woke up late, too (lol).
In the end, we didn't finish getting ready until after 10 o'clock.

It was definitely too late for a long trip.
So, we decided to "enjoy somewhere nearby!" and headed to Sendai Port.

We arrived at Sendai Port and started fishing right away.
Today's goal was mantis shrimp.
However, the first thing we caught was…… a Japanese whiting.
And the next thing we caught was…… a crab.

Wait, what about the mantis shrimp? (lol)

Then, my eldest son reeled in a conger eel.

Even though we didn't catch the mantis shrimp we were aiming for,
we caught whiting, crabs, pufferfish, and conger eel.

One way or another, we caught all sorts of things (lol).
We released the pufferfish as it was.

In the end, we didn't catch any mantis shrimp, but
"not knowing what you'll catch"
might just be part of the fun of fishing.

We finished fishing, but it was still too early to go home.
Now, what should we do?
Since we've already come out, let's go somewhere else for a bit.

So, we headed south.

We headed to the newly built Lapras Park. The Miyagi support Pokémon is "Lapras".

Because it was near the sea and it was evening, it was cooler than I expected.
And the kids were full of energy 😀

There was also a Lapras manhole cover nearby.

After playing at the park, we went to Aqua Ignis Sendai right next door.
There is a hot spring here.
Since we were there, we decided to go into the hot spring.

We had been fishing and playing in the park, so we had worked up a sweat, and the hot spring felt great.

And, when we came out of the hot spring,

looking outside, the Taiwanese lanterns were lit up. They were beautiful when we saw them before going into the hot spring, but at night, when they were lit, they looked completely different.

The colorful lanterns were lined up, and it was very beautiful.

The night before, we couldn't decide where to go, and
we couldn't wake up early in the morning either.
In the end, we didn't leave until after 10 o'clock.
So, we couldn't go on a long trip.

But.

We went fishing at Sendai Port,
we aimed for mantis shrimp but caught whiting,
we even caught crabs, my eldest son caught a conger eel,
we played at a newly built park,
and finally, we went to a hot spring,
and we were able to see the lit-up Taiwanese lanterns.

Looking back,
one way or another, it was packed with things.

"I have to take them somewhere special"

even if you don't think that,
if you go out as a family, laugh together,
and can say "That was fun today,"
then that might be enough.

It was all spontaneous, but
this, too, is a memory of our family's summer vacation.

It was that kind of day.
