A scratching post I thought would be fine even as an objet d'art
What kind of scratching posts do your cats like?
My two cats definitely prefer the sisal rope pole type.
The tabby uses the cardboard floor type too, but the Siamese mix is strictly a sisal rope pole fan.
Neither of them ever scratches anywhere other than their scratching posts.
Before I got my cats, I was prepared for the possibility that my walls might get ruined, but there was no need to worry.
And, the scratching post we have is a favorite of the owners, too.
When I buy cat goods, especially things like cat beds, I'm always half-doubting whether they'll actually use them. It's very disappointing when they don't.
However, I bought this scratching post, made of solid wood and sturdy sisal rope, thinking that even if the cats didn't use it, it would be fine as an objet d'art.
The result is that they've used it so thoroughly that I've had to replace the core in less than two years.
Before they play, the two of them run to the scratching post full of enthusiasm and scratch away, scratch, scratch.
That sight is just so heartwarming.
