When I search the Fukuoka City Public Library,
134 items are displayed,
so the number of books I have read is only a few.
And,
"Even on Busy Days, I Get Hungry."
Since reading it, in our house, we make and eat pickled plum rice
using homemade pickled plums grown in the garden.
It's delicious!~

pickled plum rice appears, but

"Chou-chou and Boar"
"Shosetsu Suiri" February 2013 issue
there was a scene where the protagonist was reading a book by Yoko Hiramatsu,

"Left anterior talofibular ligament injury, full recovery in one month.
[May 16, 2020] While exercising, when I jumped on the spot and landed, I lost my balance and twisted my left foot significantly outward. The moment my body tilted sharply to the left, my left ankle twisted around, and a gruesome sound went up. Rip, rip, rip. The person nearby looked back in shock."
p.138 "Days of the COVID-19 Pandemic 2020-2021: Fall Seven Times, Rise Eight"
I have never experienced such a terrible injury,
but it reminded me of the fear I felt when I fell while running
and got a scrape on my face over ten years ago.
I saw the word (characters) "anterior talofibular ligament" for the first time, so I Googled it.

"The bread dish called French toast is made by soaking bread in milk or egg liquid and baking it, but in France, where it is specifically named 'French,' it is called pain perdu, which means 'lost bread'.
That term carries with it tense, state, and even a sense of regret for something that has passed its prime, leaving nothing to be desired.
…
For a baguette that has passed its prime and become rock-hard, the fragrant aroma of freshly baked bread is nowhere to be found. Yes, it is truly 'lost bread,' but there are many ways to regenerate it.
Put it in soup or stews, use it as a binder for minced meat dishes, grate it and sprinkle it over dishes to brown them in the oven, and so on. And if you soak it in beaten egg and milk, it becomes French toast, that is, pain perdu."
p.125 "Days of the COVID-19 Pandemic, March 1st, Lost Bread"
When I was in elementary school (1961-66),
I couldn't eat the unappetizing white bread served at school lunch,
so I brought it home every day.
I would dry it out,
and use a grater to make breadcrumbs.
How delicious the French toast
made from that dried bread was!
Back then, cake was something you could only
eat around Christmas.

"I usually soak French toast in egg mixture for about a night before frying, but it would sometimes be undercooked or not soaked through; the soaking time is difficult, and I failed about twice...
If you use frozen white bread, the egg mixture soaks in within a minute, and you won't fail!!
Submerge the frozen white bread in the egg mixture.
Cover it and microwave at 600W for 30 seconds, then flip the bread and microwave for another 30 seconds.
The egg mixture soaks in as the bread thaws!
Heat a frying pan over low heat, add a knob of butter, and slowly fry one side for 3 minutes."
