I am going to take the practical exam for the national hairdresser license✂️
I will be 48 this October
I never imagined that at this age,
I would be feeling like this the day before a national exam😂
I opened the KiraBelle Hiratsuka branch in June 2024
A little before that, in October 2023, I enrolled in beauty school
Going to school while running a salon,
working, practicing, studying...
Before I knew it, tomorrow is the practical exam
And in September, I still have the written exam ahead of me📖
So it's not over at all yet
If anything, tomorrow is the first big mountain to climb😂
Honestly...
I'm scared🤣
If it were the younger me, I feel like I would have been a bit more
"Well, it'll work out somehow~"
about it
I've always had a pretty laid-back personality, after all😂
When I was young, for better or worse, I thought about things in a carefree way
But now that I'm older, have a job,
and have had various experiences,
"What if I fail?"
"What if I get nervous and mess something up?"
"Will I be able to do it like I always do?"
I end up thinking about things like that too😅
I thought that gaining experience would make me less afraid of things, but it was the opposite🤣
It's scary precisely because I know
This is a real thing...
And this time, what pushed me the most
was the second task, winding
"............It's over😇"
was my thought
Because
being the laid-back person I am, I had never once finished within the time limit🤣🤣🤣
No matter how much I wound, I was over time
I'm slow even though I intend to be in a hurry
I really am in quite a hurry, you know
But I even ended up being told by my teacher,
"Your laid-back side is showing!"😂
No, teacher
I am currently in a huge rush 🤣
Because I was in that state, for a while I was truly in despair
"Will I make it in time for the exam..."
I don't know how many times I thought that
Even so, I practiced and practiced again
It was only in the last few weeks
that I finally started finishing within the time limit
So slow 🤣
I think so too
Please finish faster, me 😂
That's why
"I'm all set now 😊"
I really can't say that
On the contrary, even now on the day before
I am just terrified 🤣
Since this is the day before
I wonder what will happen to me tomorrow 😂
Will my hands shake?
Will I get nervous and skip a step?
Will I forget something?
Will I suddenly start being my usual laid-back self at a weird time? 🤣
There is no end to the worrying
However, over these past few weeks

but now I am the one receiving energy from the customers instead 😂

That's why

I won't say that for now 😂
However
I will check many times to make sure I haven't forgotten anything
I will groom myself properly
I will confirm the hygiene aspects
I won't think about unnecessary things
and tomorrow I will focus on what is right in front of me ✂️
In the national hairdresser exam, not only technique
but also hygiene handling is subject to evaluation
As someone who has worked with poise, this is something I also want to value highly
And sometimes, customers ask me
"Why did you decide to get a hairdresser license now?"
That is certainly true 😂
Since I entered beauty school in my 40s
and am trying to get a national license while running a salon,
I'm sure you're thinking,
“Why now?”
I have been working in esthetics for a long time.
At KiraBelle, I also perform work where I touch customers' skin directly,
including REVI ceramic skin treatments.🌿
That is precisely why,
when I thought about wanting to increase what I can do at KiraBelle in the future,
I started researching the cosmetology license quite thoroughly.
I didn't want to make assumptions on my own,
so I also inquired directly with the public health center.
I also looked into the Cosmetologist Act.
Even though we use the word facial, the way of thinking changes depending on what you do
and what the purpose of the treatment is.
The things I am studying are not just techniques for cutting or curling hair.
They include related laws and regulations, public health, infectious diseases, hygiene management, human anatomy and physiology, dermatology, and cosmetic chemistry.
For someone like me who works by touching customers,
there were many things where I thought,
not just “I should probably know this,”
but
“I really want to study this properly.”
I thought,
I'll just get the necessary qualifications,
acquire the necessary knowledge,
and increase what I can do at KiraBelle.😊
I didn't use my age as an excuse
to say, “It's too late for school.”
Well...
to be precise, I did think that a little.🤣
Taking a national exam just before turning 48 is quite something, isn't it?😂
But,
rather than spending years saying “I want to get it”
or “It would be nice if I could do it” until I reach my 50s,
I thought, just go for it!
and enrolled.
And there is one more
big reason why I wanted to get a cosmetology license.
That is,
I want to make this a salon where I can provide care not just for the face, but also for the scalp.
The face and scalp may look like separate things, but the skin is connected.
Caring for the scalp comfortably
is also a great match in terms of relaxation.💆♀️
Currently, KiraBelle offers ceramic skin treatments and dry head spas.
I want to connect these two even more in the future.
If I can provide facial care with a ceramic skin treatment
and then clean up to the head afterwards...
you'd just have to go home and sleep!🤣

"I don't want to take a bath today~"
For those of you in the so-called 'bath-skipping' community,
I hope to create a menu where I can take care of your face and hair at KiraBelle,
so that when you get home, you can just relax.🛁✨
Of course, just because I get a hairdresser's license doesn't mean I can do everything right away.
When actually performing new beauty treatments,
I will proceed after confirming the necessary equipment, notifications, and hygiene management.
I don't want to be vague about that.
If I'm going to go through the trouble of getting a national qualification,
I don't think there's any point in just holding the certificate.
By adding the knowledge and hygiene management I've learned as a hairdresser
to the experience I've built up as an esthetician,
I want to gradually increase what I can do at KiraBelle.
And,
"If I come here, I can consult about both my skin and my hair."
I hope to make it that kind of place.😊
That said,
before that future,
first comes tomorrow.🤣🤣🤣
I'm talking about the future,
but this is no time to be running over time on my winding practice.😂

tomorrow, I'm heading to the practical exam for the national hairdresser license.✂️
I don't know if I can pass on the first try.
But I've practiced this much,
so tomorrow, I will not forget anything,
I will look presentable,
I will check the hygiene aspects,
and I won't panic and do anything reckless.😂

I will do it just like I always do.
I will focus on that.
