I am writing to you with a sense of deep concern and urgency. As a citizen of Japan, I am witnessing a critical deficit in our public verification processes, and I implore your organization to investigate.

There is a deeply concerning lack of effort to address genuine questions raised by experts and citizens, leaving the public without the objective analysis and comparative materials needed to make informed decisions.

This issue is compounded by challenges in domestic reporting. While basic news coverage of these developments exists, it often focuses heavily on announcing official government decisions or the passage of bills. Detailed analysis of subsequent institutional designs, their long-term social impacts, and multi-dimensional expert debates are rarely sustained. As a result, major changes to society may take place before citizens have sufficient opportunity to understand and debate their implications.

I sincerely hope that objective reporting and independent investigation by international media organizations can serve as a vital catalyst for broader, more active public discussion and journalistic verification within Japan. I respectfully ask your organization to investigate not only these major policy shifts, but the deeply concerning state of public scrutiny surrounding them.
