"Wow, what a huge line."

When I went to the cafe with Tomoko for the "Spring Slumber Frappuccino" released today, there was already a long line. Thinking the wait wouldn't be boring if we were together, we joined the end of the line.

"Whoa, what's that?"

Looking in the direction Tomoko was pointing, I saw a man cutting in line ahead of us. Everyone looked annoyed, but no one dared to say anything to the man, who was dressed in a rather rough style and wearing sunglasses.

"That's so unfair."

We whispered to each other, but we didn't have the courage to speak up either. An uneasy atmosphere hung in the air around us.

Just then.

"Whoa!"

Suddenly, the first strong wind of spring blew.

While everyone was holding onto their hats or the pages of their books, the ten-thousand-yen bill the man was holding flew high up into the air.

It flew with such force that it almost reached the roof of the building next door. The man stared at it blankly at first, but then came to his senses and began chasing after it with a desperate look on his face.

Everyone watched with bated breath.

The ten-thousand-yen bill rose and fell, fluttering in every direction, toying with the man before finally landing in the middle of the sidewalk. Immediately after, a high school girl's loafer mercilessly stepped on it.

The man picked up the bill with a tragic expression and looked our way. Realizing that almost everyone in line was watching him, he looked embarrassed and walked away.

Everyone was silent for a moment, but then they began to talk among themselves.

"Satomi, this isn't 'Spring Slumber', is it?"

Tomoko spoke to me with a look on her face as if she had just thought of something clever.

"It's 'The people find peace,' isn't it."
