How Quantum Computers Work [Grover's Algorithm]
Quantum computers are a new technology that performs calculations based on principles different from those of conventional computers. One of the representative algorithms is Grover's algorithm. This is a method for efficiently solving "search problems," and it can speed up processes that would take an enormous amount of time on conventional computers by utilizing quantum properties.
For example, when searching for a specific answer in a database, a classical computer needs to check them one by one. However, with Grover's algorithm, by utilizing quantum "superposition" and "interference," the number of searches can be significantly reduced.
This mechanism is considered to be applicable in a wide range of fields, such as cryptography and optimization problems. Once quantum computers are put into full-scale practical use, it will become possible to tackle challenges that were impossible with conventional calculations.
