Even a slacker could do it! Why my nursing care Instagram account kept gaining followers even after being abandoned for a year
My nursing care account, which I've been running for about two years, has continued to gain followers steadily even after I left it alone for a year.
I'm so glad I posted every day back then (looking back fondly).
Why do the followers keep increasing?
I'll try to analyze it in my own way.
Instagram requires a lot of effort.
Make images.
Write captions.
Make Reels too.
Post Stories as well.
Oh, it's just too much hassle!
That's why I think it's a high hurdle for regular businesses or sole proprietors who aren't influencers to run an Instagram account.
By the way, my account is...I don't post Stories because I'm socially awkward.
I don't interact with other accounts.
I find going around liking posts to be a pain.
I don't want to make Reel videos, so I only do feed posts.
That was how I ran my account.
Here is the proof that I seriously abandoned it.
This was October 2024.
I took a screenshot to commemorate reaching 1,300 followers.

And here is today's screenshot.
The number of people I follow and the number of posts haven't changed, but only the follower count has increased.
Almost at 1,500 followers! Yay!

My last post was in June 2024.
That was exactly one year ago.
Let me think about why it keeps growing.
Because it was properly recognized for its genre, and people learned that it's an account with useful information.
Conversely, if you build it up properly, you can run it as an account that only updates Stories to share real-time information.
It seems like it could lead to attracting customers for shops and businesses too💡
The secret to building a solid account isconveying your own knowledge + experience.
And then, increasing its value.
Letting people know they can get information here that they can't find anywhere else.
It doesn't have to be a super high-design image; as long as it's easy to understand, that's fine.
Aim for a sense of unity that doesn't stand out in a bad way!
If you can use Canva a little, understand the basics of design, and have a bit of marketing knowledge, you can do Instagram.
If you accumulate posts that convey your charm and strengths, it will become a place people can visit anytime.
Instagram is great.
Even though it's a hassle.
There might be good things waiting on the other side of the hassle.
The basics of design are summarized in this article.
Being able to use Canva is super fun because you can create slides, diagrams, and Instagram posts!
