What are Bluesky "Feeds"?

Yesterday, I posted an article about making significant changes to my Bluesky account.

I was confused at first, and my second daughter was also puzzled because she didn't really understand it, so I would like to explain "feeds" here in my own way.

First of all

Unlike X, posts do not automatically flow onto your timeline on Bluesky.
At first, you only have the Following timeline.

You create a new list yourself, add users to it, and enjoy information by creating your own favorite timeline.

What is a list?

For those of you who have an X account, do you use lists?

If you understand this, it's easy to explain.
Bluesky also has this feature, so please try using it.
It is the same in that you can add people regardless of follow relationships.

However!

Please note that Bluesky cannot be set to private.

Once you have created a list file using the new button on the top right of the list screen, wait a little while for it to reflect, then reopen the list.

Bluesky's reflection time is, in my experience, somewhat to quite slow.

Once you enter the list you just created, if you select the
About tab, a user add button will appear.
(If you look at it without any explanation, it took me a while to notice this About tab 😅)

Once the list is created, press
Pin to Home on the top right and you're done.

For those who say this, there are feeds.

What is a feed?

It is a list that can be created with more detailed settings than a standard list. You could even call it a timeline with granular settings.

However, you cannot create them within the Bluesky app itself.

You need a third-party app that integrates with Bluesky.

I read the article mentioned above and am using Skyfeed.

This is a bit of a nudge, but after reading the explanation, please try clicking the link to the feed I created and pinning it 😁

First, if you click the link I will post after this, you will see this screen.

Just press "Pin to Home" in the top right, and you are all set.

Well then, here you go 😁

However,
basically, you find feeds by searching for them.

Press the home button in the bottom left to return to the home screen, and you will see a # in the top right.
You can enter from there.

Alternatively, if you press the three lines in the top left, you will see the word "Feeds," so you can go from there as well.

Then you will see this screen, so search for the word you want to find using the search bar.

If you find a feed you like, you can pin it by pressing the + button on the right side of that entry.

A note of caution here
It seems this search function searches for the exact string.

A feed titled "note (article)" will not appear in the search bar unless you type "note (".
A title with a space like "note article" will not appear if you search without the space like "notearticle".

That's why I created my feed title separated by a space.
Everyone uses spaces, right? 😁

Furthermore, the search results might only show posts with a high number of likes.

Now, finally,

To use your pinned feeds comfortably,

There is an "Edit" button at the top right of the feed search screen.EditPressing this will allow you to...

Once you set the priority order here, the feeds will be arranged from the left on your home screen.

That's it for feeds; it's simple, but you should be able to add them now 😁
