[Facilitation Graphics] Icebreaker for Facilitation Graphics (4) (Moon and House)
Are you visualizing your meetings and discussions?
Why do you think it is good to visualize things?
This is a group activity that helps you realize the necessity of such visualization.
This time, I will introduce an activity that uses facilitation graphics to help you realize that necessity.
1) Effects of the Moon and House
Since you do the group work while writing on paper, it serves as an icebreaker. After writing on paper, you talk to share what you have written, so it also helps in building the atmosphere.
By comparing the drawings with other members, you can realize the necessity and importance of visualization.
2) How to proceed with the Moon and House
(1) The facilitator gives the following instructions and has the members draw on A4 paper.
- Place the A4 paper horizontally.
- Have them draw a house in the middle. Have them draw a chimney on the house.
Have them draw a window on the house. Have them draw a door on the house.
Have them draw smoke coming from the chimney.
- Next, have them draw a moon in the sky. Have them draw a shooting star in the sky.
- Have them draw a tree next to the house. Have them draw a swing on the tree.
(2) Have the members show their drawings to each other and share them.
Compare them to see if there are any differences or similarities in what was drawn.
Summary
This time, I introduced facilitation graphics that can be used for icebreakers. Since you can also draw illustrations, it can lower the hurdle for drawing pictures. The drawings end up being quite different and interesting, so please try it out at least once.
