[Archive Available] Learning "Structure and Themes That Move People" from Drama Producer Yasuhito Tachibana #HowToCreateStories

On note, we are launching a new event series called "How to Create Stories," where you can learn about "stories" from professionals from various perspectives.

The first installment features "Structure and Themes That Move People" by Yasuhito Tachibana, who has produced "The Naked Director" and worked on documentary production for "Jounetsu Tairiku" and NewsPicks.

In the first half of the event, you will learn about motivation and structural techniques that make people want to watch until the end, and in the second half, you will learn how to deepen themes to make your work more compelling.

This event will be streamed online, but we are also accepting applications for 30 in-person participants. Please see the event overview section below for how to apply. This event is recommended as an introductory course not only for creators writing novels or manga but also for business professionals who want to utilize storytelling in their work.

Speaker Profile

Yasuhito Tachibana
Representative of production company "Nemeton"

After graduating from the University of Tokyo, he worked at Wire Broad Networks (now USEN) before joining Dreamax Television (now TBS Sparkle) in 2004. Major video works he has produced include Netflix's "The Naked Director," "Oh My Jump! ~Shonen Jump Saves the Earth~" (TV Tokyo), "Mario ~The Future of AI~" (NHK), and "Twin Spica" (NHK), among others. He also works on documentary production for "Jounetsu Tairiku" and NewsPicks, and stage production for works such as "Akatsuki no Tei" and "Clover ni Ai wo Komete." He currently runs a circle called "Story Lab" on note, where he explores story theory and conducts numerous member-participatory story creation projects.

note is currently holding the "note Creative Awards" contest, which accepts works of all genres. The format of the work can be text, image, video, or a combination of these. Creators selected for the Grand Prize and Excellence Awards will work with the cooperating companies that presented the awards (KADOKAWA, Gentosha, Diamond, TV Tokyo) to discuss book publication or video adaptation.
