Background of the event
It's autumn, the season for reading, but what kind of books are you reading? What kind of books do professional book editors read? At note, we are inviting business book editors to hold a session where they talk extensively about their "Favorite Books of the Year"!
Our guests are Ryosuke Konno (Diamond, Inc., editor of books such as "Write What You Want to Read"), Hiromi Nakagawa (Nikkei BP, editor of books such as "FACTFULNESS"), and Takuma Hayashi (Discover 21, Inc., editor of books such as "Throw Everything Away"). You might even hear about the behind-the-scenes of their work!
This event is recommended for those who love reading and those looking for their next book. Please take a look.

Ryosuke Konno
Diamond, Inc.
Born in Tokyo in 1984. Graduated from the Department of Literature, Waseda University. Joined Nihon Jitsugyo Publishing in 2008. Handled practical books mainly on taxes, law, and system development, as well as parenting and self-help books. Joined Diamond, Inc. in 2015. Belongs to the First Editorial Department of the Book Editorial Bureau. Currently, 11 consecutive books he has edited have been reprinted (Japanese books). Contributed a short story to the doujinshi "Rain Stops in Five Minutes." Books he has edited include "Write What You Want to Read," "Graduating from Todai, Becoming a Farmer's Right-Hand Man," "Divide and Connect," "Words That Make Children Happy," and "The Most Correct Way to Cure Atopic Dermatitis with Modern Medicine." Favorite sport is track and field. Favorite drink is whiskey. Favorite singer is aiko.

After joining Nikkei BP, she worked as a reporter for the telecommunications trade magazine "Nikkei Communications" before becoming involved in book editing in 2005. Major books she has edited include "The Hard Thing About Hard Things," "Angel Investor," "Steve Jobs: The Presentation Secrets of Steve Jobs," "Jeff Bezos and the Age of Amazon," and "FACTFULNESS." Loves cats, meat, and startups.

Takuma Hayashi
Discover 21, Inc.
Born in 1989. From Toyama Prefecture. After graduating from university, joined Discover 21, Inc. After working in the bookstore sales department covering the Tohoku, Hokuriku, and Kanto areas, launched the company's first "Fiction Division" in 2014. Transferred to the book editorial department in 2016. Currently belongs to the business book editorial team. Works handled in 2020 include "Ghibli Museum Monogatari," "Zenbu, Suterereba," "Illustrated Introduction to Human Resource Management," "Culture Model," and "BRAIN DRIVEN."
