✨The Truth and Creating Works with AI.
I create illustrations using AI generation and digital tools.
I have posted several paid articles on note, but there may be parts I haven't explained well.
However, these are things I have learned in my own way.
I have had the pleasure of viewing the works of many illustrators, handmade craft artists, and various other people called artists on Instagram and Threads.
Artists who have their own unique 'characteristics,' 'policies,' and 'styles' capture people's hearts and make it impossible to look away.
At the same time, I feel envious and something like jealousy.
That emotion is not directed at them, but at 'myself'.
The talent to create works with one's own color by one's own hand. How much time and effort did they spend to reach that point?
When I think about things like that, I feel ashamed that I haven't done anything yet.
In truth, I want more and more time to devote to what I am passionate about.
But in reality, I don't have that luxury. I don't have the ability to make it a job, nor the time to learn. If I don't work a regular job, it will affect my children's future. (That is why I have made some of my articles paid.)
That is where I encountered AI generation.
I was originally an illustrator. In my younger days, I was an old-school otaku who made books for events like Comiket.
I want to draw, but I can't draw the way I want to.
AI is what gives shape to my thoughts.
I value prompts very much. Because AI illustrations are like things woven with words.
Honestly, the truth is that I don't really need parameters. (Though it is certain that such knowledge is necessary to generate high-quality, elaborate illustrations.)
My current situation is that I am having AI ghostwrite the thoughts I want to draw. My current works are those where I add my own touch to the thoughts that couldn't be fully conveyed.
Rather than being elaborate, my art values ambiguity. If you give proper instructions to an AI, you can create proper pictures.
But I think it is actually difficult to instruct ambiguity. I find the fun of works created with AI in that, and I am currently obsessed with it.
I sometimes correct parts that are unbearably unnatural myself.
However, I sometimes intentionally leave parts that feel ambiguous or unnatural as they are, if I think they work as a design choice.
Actually, I also like drawing people.
But I feel that when I have AI draw people, many of the works end up looking like something I've seen somewhere before.
That is why I keep the number of works featuring people as the main subject on Threads to a minimum.
Since I started creating art, I have conversely been drawing more analog art myself.
Perhaps it is because I was able to learn the style I want to draw through AI.
AI learns from human works to generate images.
In the same way, I believe that humans can also learn from AI and develop the ability to create things with their own hands.
Recently, many people have been viewing my work and I have been receiving more comments, and I am starting to find a sense of purpose in life.
I am sorry that I cannot reply to every single comment.
However, I will cherish the comments I have received and hope to apply them to my future work.
I am sure there are some who think that, after all, I am just having an AI draw for me.
But the world is changing.
Eventually, a time may come when we leave all our work to AI.
However.
As long as humans do not lose their hearts, I believe that only humans can surpass what humans have created.
I intend to continue creating works that reflect my thoughts.
If there is even one person who shares similar thoughts to mine, I would be more than happy.
