🪦 I Wasn't Supposed to Die

Once again, nice to meet you? I suppose.
My name is Eo888. Please feel free to call me Eo.

This time, I would like to introduce myself.

I am in my 40s, single, and female.

Many of the things I like start with the sound 'ko' (in Japanese).

* Cats (Of course, I also like dogs, birds, and other animals!)
* Rice (Kome)
* Coffee (Kohii)
* Chocolate (Chokoreeto)
* Fiction (Kyoko) (Books, manga, movies, music, entertainment, and art in general. A bit of a stretch, haha)
* Fortune-telling (Kuranai - okay, that's a stretch too!)

From a low-wage corporate slave life to an annual income of 0 yen

Although I went to art college and even got a teaching license, I loved a free life without constraints, so I spent my working life in various roles, including part-time jobs, temp work, and contract positions.

Without having the slightest interest in career advancement or marriage, I happened to get a management position at a company I joined, and when my days became completely filled with work at home and work during breaks, that moment arrived.

Cancer diagnosis, a time of emptiness

My body seemed to have reached its limit, and my life was forcibly brought to a halt.

Chemotherapy began immediately, and I could no longer continue working.

Days that were beyond words...

And now, a full year has passed since I finished my treatment schedule.

Currently, while dealing with side effects like numbness in my hands and feet, vision issues, and reduced heart function, I am exploring ways to work from home, focusing on drawing and creative activities.

Actually, starting this note is one aspect of that.

I have discovered some beauty tips regarding hair and skin through my actual cancer treatment experience, and I hope to compile them and deliver them to those who need them someday.

I want to make it substantial enough to be satisfying even as a paid plan, and I plan to release it by the end of 2026 at the latest, so I would be incredibly happy if those who are interested would come and check it out!

Besides that, I am thinking of turning things I come up with into reality, such as a method for anyone to do fortune-telling with zero knowledge, or teaching materials on how to draw.

Thinking that the information I have and the hardships I experienced might become someone else's nourishment makes me excited.

To think I would start drawing manga again

The first time I drew manga was when I was in kindergarten.

I still remember seriously drawing urban legend-themed 4-panel gag manga with clumsy lines and letters.

From then until about middle school, I serialized mystery manga in exchange diaries with friends and filled university notebooks with battle manga drawn in pencil as ideas came to me. (The influence of Dragon Ball was so strong that it was full-blown Toriyama-ism.)

In high school, I joined a circle and made fanzines containing illustrations, manga, novels, and poems, engaging in creative activities on a small scale.

After graduating from university, I drew pictures much less frequently and became immersed in a very ordinary social life.

That life turned into one where I was thrown into a time-space with nothing, much like the Hyperbolic Time Chamber from my childhood, and in a sense, it felt like I had returned to my true self.

For a while, my physical condition was like hell, so I couldn't do anything, but humans are strange; as soon as I started feeling even a little better, I wanted to do various things and naturally started getting into creative activities.

Trying to sell designed goods,
Trying to make a picture book,
Trying to write a script...

And what I started from the spring equinox of this year is a manga series on X, mainly about my cancer experience.

Feeling awkward on social media after a long time

I had used it a little when it was still Twitter, but I am an amateur with almost no knowledge of the internet.
I learned little by little, checking how to do things as I went along.

The manuscript is also just something I drew on paper with a pen, took a photo of, and simply added tones to on my iPad before uploading.

I know it would be cleaner if I used dedicated design tools.

The text is handwritten and hard to read, and it would be better to type it out and typeset it, right?

But in my current state, this is the best I can do.
Besides, I don't think handwriting only has downsides, so I intend to continue as long as I can.

It includes sensitive content, so please only take a look if you are okay with that, if you or someone close to you has experienced it, or if you are curious about what happens when you get cancer. (I've posted a link below this article.)

Since you have to scroll back on X, I'm thinking of making it so the manga can be read all together eventually.

The defiance of someone who almost died

Because of that, I am in a timeline right after my life was reset, but you could say I was able to return to being the type of person who originally loved fun things and was greedily obsessed with interesting things.

In astrology, there is a method for reading world affairs, and it is predicted that from now on, all of humanity will experience a major turning point, an unprecedented upheaval.
It has already started, though.

I, who had been looking forward to this change even before COVID, realized that once again, and I am trembling with gratitude for the extended life that allows me to experience the ultimate reality entertainment.
It is close to a thrill that contains fear.

The cancer cells have disappeared for now, but there is still a risk of recurrence.

I don't have financial stability in a situation where I can't work outside.

But, I'm not going to just die idly.

The fun part is just beginning!
