A Must-Visit Cafe in Guam

Today, I’d like to introduce a popular cafe in Guam that you should visit at least once.

The cafe is called Cafe Gudcha. It is located near IPAO Beach, one of the most popular beaches among tourists. It’s just a 10-minute walk from the beach, making it a perfect place to stop by after spending time there.

The cafe is especially famous for its acai bowls, and during my visit, most tourists were enjoying them.

However, the cafe offers more than just acai bowls. It also sells unique items that are only available there. You can find original T-shirts printed with photos of the cafe, as well as travel-size perfumes with tea-based scents, such as milk tea and Earl Grey.

Browsing these items is part of the fun, and they will definitely make you smile.

この英文を読むためのヒント

Today, I’d like to introduce a popular cafe in Guam that you should visit at least once.

• I’d like to ～ は「～したいと思います」というやわらかい表現

• introduce は「紹介する」

• a popular cafe は「人気のあるカフェ」

• that 以下は cafe を説明している

• visit at least once は「少なくとも一度は訪れる」

The cafe is called Cafe Gudcha.

• be called ～ は「～と呼ばれている」

• The name of ～ より自然な言い方

• S + be動詞 + called + 名詞 の形

It is located near IPAO Beach, one of the most popular beaches among tourists.

• be located near ～ は「～の近くに位置している」という定型表現

• among tourists は「観光客の間で」

It’s just a 10-minute walk from the beach, making it a perfect place to stop by after spending time there.

• from ～ は「～から」

• making ～ は「その結果～になる」という分詞構文

• stop by は「立ち寄る」

• spending time there の there は the beach を指す

The cafe is especially famous for its acai bowls, and during my visit, most tourists were enjoying them.

• be famous for ～ は「～で有名」

• especially は「特に」

• during my visit は「私が訪れたとき」

• were enjoying は過去進行形（その時実際に楽しんでいた）

• them は acai bowls を指す

However, the cafe offers more than just acai bowls.

• However は話の流れが変わるサイン

• offer は「提供する」

• more than ～ は「～以上のもの」

It also sells unique items that are only available there.

• sell は「売っている」

• that 以下は items を説明

• available は「入手可能な」

• there はそのカフェを指す

• You can find ～ は「～を見つけることができる」

• printed with ～ は「～が印刷された」

• as well as は「～に加えて」

• part of the fun は「楽しみの一部」

• make you smile は第5文型

• definitely は強調

しっかり理解したい人向け読解のポイント

正確に理解したい方は、下記に注意しながら読むといいですよ。

✔ 指示語（it / them / there / they）が何を指しているか
✔ 分詞構文（making ～）の働き
✔ 関係代名詞 that の役割
✔ 第5文型（make + 人 + 動詞）の意味
