#2 Is the 'mindset' common to successful people simple, yet difficult?
Good morning, good afternoon, and good evening to you all.
I am the 'Unknowingly-Opening-Luck-Energy-Old-Guy™️'.
Today, I would like to talk about the 'mindset' that is common to people who are socially successful.
I have experienced being an executive at a listed company, served as an advisor for various companies, and even run my own small business, so I have seen many people who are what you might call 'important' or 'people who will become important'.
Young people in today's world say,
'I want my own time, so I don't want to work overtime, and I don't need a promotion.'
There are more and more people like this who seem to belong to the 'Age of Wind', and business owners like me are
'I see, that way of living is important from now on!'
and I am learning from them every day, but for people like me who have survived what is called the【Age of Earth】, it can be quite difficult to understand.
The Age of Wind is perfectly fine, and perhaps that kind of sensibility will become the majority, but the 'mindset' I am about to talk about is something that I think will remain 'important' regardless of what kind of world or era it is, so please let me continue.
So, what is that important mindset? It is
'Honesty'
that is what I mean.
Some of you might be let down, thinking 'Is that it!', but I believe this mindset is the very first condition for success.
Some famous company presidents are so honest that they have the heart of a young boy.
For example, when a subordinate makes a suggestion,'I see, I had thought this way, but that way is certainly an option, so let's try that!'even though the president has their own ideas and methods, they recognize that the proposed method is more efficient or likely to produce results in the shortest time, and they constantly improve and move forward while incorporating the opinions of others.
Once you reach a certain position, it becomes easy to forget the obvious thing of listening humbly to others, and when it comes to a subordinate's words, you might 'assert your authority by saying, I know better!'as well.
However, no matter how old you get, if you forget or discard your honesty, I think your luck will continue to slip away.
Now, let's delve deeper into 'honesty' for social success.
01. What is honesty?
First of all, regarding what 'honesty' is, it is the flexibility to immediately respond to the opinions of those around you and the environment of the moment. Also, by having a flexible attitude that allows you to accept the opinions and advice of others without prejudice, you can immediately respond to opposing opinions and advice, and use them as fuel for your own growth. Conversely, if you lack honesty, you often lack flexibility and have a stubborn attitude, making it difficult to incorporate the opinions and advice of others, which slows down your own growth speed and leads to isolation from those around you. Also, unlike just obediently swallowing everything you are told, if you absorb and incorporate things while having your own firm ideas, you can grow rapidly, and opportunities for success will increase, bringing more luck your way.

03. How to Cultivate 'Honesty' for Social Success?
I have summarized and introduced ways to cultivate honesty.
[5 Ways to Cultivate Honesty]
① Try incorporating opinions and advice different from your own。 → Instead of pushing back, try accepting it once by thinking, 'That's another way of looking at it.'
② Actively challenge yourself with new things.
→ Discard preconceptions, take action, and acquire flexible thinking.
③ Do not cover up mistakes or failures with lies. → Honestly admit failures and connect them to the next growth.
④ Reduce, or rather, stop saying 'but' or 'because'. → Develop the habit of accepting the other person's opinion first without making excuses.
⑤ Value feelings of gratitude. → If you can feel 'thank you' when taught or pointed out something, honesty will naturally be acquired.
Honesty is not something that can be changed immediately, but it is acquired little by little through daily awareness.
However, being too honest can make you easily swayed or taken advantage of by malicious people, so balance is important.
I personally find the sense of 'harmony' or 'the golden mean' to be fitting, so I hope everyone will also have honesty, gently touch the forelock of the god of opportunity, and go out and be active!
For good fortune, I believe that being 'honest' with both yourself and others is the most important thing.
Thank you for reading until the end.
May everyone have a happy day today and tomorrow✨
