[Motivation] I'm going to Okinawa for a little bit.

Hello, this is Emu.
Thank you for reading this article!

Emu: "How do you all maintain your motivation?"
It has been 7 years since I became a freelancer and 6 years since I shifted to working from home. My way of working has changed 180 degrees from my time as a company employee, and the way I maintain my motivation has changed as well.
"Gadgets x Environment Setup"
This is my motivation. I have been particular about building my work environment. Anyway, I want to work comfortably and happily. I want to do this at home, I want to do that when I'm out, and so on. It's not that my motivation is down, but I think I'll try to lift my spirits a little. So...

"I'm going to work in Okinawa 🙄"
I believe it's called a workation.
(A portmanteau of work and vacation)
Strike while the iron is hot.
I'll start planning right away.
The location this time is Okinawa.

There's no turning back now.

"I've already booked my flight and accommodation 😗"
I'll be staying for about 10 days. I chose dates around the end of the rainy season. I was looking forward to a certain event, but it seems it won't be happening during my stay. Also, I'm debating whether to pack with just a backpack or bring a carry-on case.

"I'm a minimalist only when I'm backpacking 🤫"
Okinawa is a place I have a connection with.

"I'm still only at the halfway point, though... 🤤"
My routine for five years starting in 2012 was cycling around the main island of Okinawa. It's a loop route starting from Naha Airport to Cape Kyan, then to the northernmost point, Cape Hedo, and back to Naha Airport. You can do it if you can take about 5 days off. If you're interested, please give it a try. For those who prefer camping (like me), please watch out for habu snakes.
Things I want to do during my workation

My usual work
Writing note articles
Earning travel expenses through FX
Traveling by bus
Enjoying Okinawan cuisine
☑ Daily work
The things I need to do are no different from usual. I plan to write my notes while feeling the atmosphere of Okinawa, all while steadily keeping up with my regular work. I plan to use the free Wi-Fi at my workspace, but just in case, I'll sign up for an unlimited data plan for this month only.
☑ Writing note articles

When I think about it, a reviewer who can't clean up ends up with a room like this...🤔
I want a storage room★
Actually, I have a backlog of gadgets that I haven't reviewed yet. I'll finish the usage reviews and photography before I leave, and prepare so I can rewrite them while in Okinawa.

☑ Earning travel expenses through FX

“Trader things 🤔”
I want to keep the total cost to 100,000 yen, including transportation, accommodation, insurance, food, and splurge money (?). With 55,000 yen for airfare, insurance, and accommodation, I'll have to manage with the remaining 45,000 yen. That would be plenty for my daily life, but since I'm traveling, I want to spend money locally. I think most of it will go toward food, so I want to do my best to keep expenses down as much as possible.

☑ Traveling by bus

I won't be using a rental car; I'll be using the bus. Okinawa is a car-dependent society. A rental car would be convenient, but even a compact car costs 3,500 yen or more per day. That doesn't fit the purpose of this trip, so I'll be getting around by bus and on foot. The bus network is well-developed, so there shouldn't be any problems. (I just need to be careful about the last bus.)

“Aren't backpackers supposed to use walking & public transportation? 😉”
☑ Enjoying Okinawan cuisine
I want to eat a variety of Okinawan-style things.
Okinawa Soba
Purple sweet potato croquette
Sea grapes
Taco rice
Steak
A&W
Blue Seal Ice Cream
and more...

"I really like the cola you can buy from vending machines in Okinawa 🥫"
Finally

"I'm feeling excited for the first time in a while 😊"
