【31-Day Program to Live My True Self】 Day 20: "Your Heart's Antenna"

In my previous article I said "to be continued tomorrow," but I wanted to keep up with the pace of the organizer, Yumi-san, so I wrote another one. This is my second post today.

Since I happened to have some time and the theme was like a continuation of the previous one, I was able to write it all at once.

I hope you will stay with me until the end 😊.

Regarding the Day 20 theme: "Your Heart's Antenna"

The note topic from the program organizer, Yumi-san.

Below is an excerpt from Yumi-san's article.

We make many choices in our daily lives, don't we? It would be great if those choices were what we truly desired from the heart, but sometimes we think we desired something, but in reality, that "desire" was something we heard from a book or someone else, and we mistakenly assumed it was our own desire too, when in fact we desired something else...!! That happens, doesn't it?
The reason why such things happen is often, as I mentioned last time, because we don't have much dialogue with ourselves to begin with, so someone else's desires get converted into our own without us realizing it, or we don't know what we truly like or dislike, what we desire, or what we actually want to let go of in this life. Also, of course, there is the fact that we have little experience, so we don't know what criteria to use to make choices!
At such times, I believe the most reliable thing is your own "intuition.".

(Omitted)

You shouldn't ignore your own feelings or "intuition." And I express such feelings and intuition as the heart's antenna (signs)..
Let's raise the sensitivity to notice that antenna♪ Since how the antenna signals is likely different for each person, it is also important to know when your own antenna gives a "Go sign" and when it gives a "No sign.".

I thought this was a theme that overlapped with the "dialogue with myself" I wrote about the day before. (Yumi-san says the same thing).

I think I am someone who often has "dialogue with myself," but at these times, I rely on my "intuition" and "feelings" to pick up the voice of my heart.

Therefore, this time, I would like to look back more concretely on "how to catch my own voice" (while answering the questions).

Today's questions are the following three.

① Have you ever had an experience where you failed because you ignored your own intuition or feelings?

② Conversely, what is an experience where you succeeded by trusting your own intuition or feelings?

③ What is your way of distinguishing between a "Go sign" and an "NG sign"?

Now then, I will answer them~.

1. Have you ever had an experience where you ignored your own intuition or senses and failed?

I really want to do A.

But, to do A, there are things like 'it costs money,' 'my family might oppose it,' 'I might have other plans,' 'there's no way I can do that,' and so on.

Like this, even though I have a flash of inspiration for 'A,' thoughts like 'that's impossible for me' come pouring out, and as a result, I either give up on it or choose something else instead...

I have had many such experiences until now.

Even if I give up on A and choose something else instead to soothe myself, what remains in my heart is 'regret'... (sweat).

That is why, when making a choice, I make sure not to include any 'cost-benefit analysis' and try to explore 'what is it that I truly want?'

◇◇◇

Also, when I was wavering between 'should I do A or B...' and asked others 'which is better?' and followed their advice, what remained later was 'a disastrous result' and 'regret'.

When I look back on my life, the number of times I silently followed someone else's opinion and was truly satisfied later thinking 'this was good' is zero.

To be honest, there has never been a time when following what others said turned out 'good.' Honestly, nothing good ever came of it... (sweat)

Even if I receive advice from someone saying 'it's good to do this,' whether or not I adopt it and actually do it is ultimately something to be decided by my own judgment and decision.

It is extremely dangerous to have others decide things for you, or to have others choose for you, and to completely hand over and surrender everything to others; you must never do that.

If you leave everything to others and live exactly as you are told, and things don't go well later, you will be the one to bear all the responsibility and pay the price for everything.

If that is the case, even if you fail, it is still more redeeming to have decided and chosen based on your own will from the start.

Therefore, my life philosophy is 'Do not ask others about important matters. Make your own decisions.'

Even if it is a very difficult choice, I make it a point to absolutely trust my own intuition and senses, and to make decisions on my own...

I have been teaching this to my son for a long time.

(Since he was a baby, he has accumulated experiences of choosing what he wants for himself. Even before he could speak, I would offer two or more snacks or drinks, ask 'which one do you want?', and let him choose by pointing. Regarding everything involving my son, I would ask 'what do you want to do?' and let him decide immediately, so I think his intuition has been quite well-trained.)

Now, my son's intuition and ability to choose are far superior to ours as parents, and he is our mentor.

◇◇◇

The fact that I decided to change myself, and that I was able to add my 'life philosophy' to raising my son, is all thanks to my own experiences of failure. It is because I have repeated the same patterns of failure many times and learned a lot from them. It is precisely because I have accumulated so many failures that I have come to understand 'patterns of failure' and, from there, noticed 'patterns of success,' so I am grateful for my failures. Failures are also important.

Because I never want to experience 'regret' ever again, I changed myself to trust my intuition next time, and even if I am scared, I give the go-ahead and take action.

When I think about it that way, the 'failures' from the era when I lived prioritizing thought over intuition were extremely valuable experiences. I feel that thanks to those, I am who I am today.

② Conversely, what are some experiences where you trusted your intuition or senses and things went well?

There are countless experiences where things went well...

Winning a car in a sweepstakes, my son's success in his entrance exams, my husband's work troubles being resolved safely, and so on.

Actually, the work I wrote that won an award in a note contest was also something I suddenly had an intuition to 'apply for.' Also, although it didn't win a prize, the work that was included in the note editorial department's recommendations was the same; I wrote it based on intuition. Furthermore, last year, when I returned to calligraphy and submitted it to the local city exhibition and received the top prize, that was also an award won by following my intuition and going with the flow.

There have been many times when my intuition was working, but I couldn't move well due to my own circumstances, the timing wasn't right, and I missed the chance. But, for the most part, when I act according to my intuition, I properly gain something. Even if it is troublesome and difficult, I think it is important to do my best and take on the challenge.

And now, participating in Yumi's '31-Day Program to Live My True Self' is also something I started based on my intuition.

What kind of self will I reach through this program? I am very much looking forward to it.

◇◇◇

By the way, while I am acting according to my intuition (in the middle of it), I have no idea what is good or what is going well... (sweat).

Of course, I am sometimes possessed by the anxiety (delusions created by thought) that I might fail, and I suffer from being caught between intuition and thought.

But when what I started reaches the finish line safely, everything is completed, and all the pieces of a giant puzzle fit perfectly into place, I feel like, 'Ah, so that's what it was,' and I can see the whole picture.

The feeling at that time is truly refreshing and pleasant. I want to taste this sense of refreshment, so I end up doing my best following my intuition again... (laughs).

Among them, there are many things that were completed without me even noticing what the 'good things' were.

But one thing I can say is that when I act according to my intuition, there is 'no regret at all'.

The fact that there is 'no regret' about what I am doing now might be a sign that things are 'going well'.

No, if 'regret' or 'hesitation' arises, that is a 'sign to withdraw,' so I honestly follow it and withdraw... That usually works out well.

3. How do you distinguish between your "Go sign" and "NG sign"?

[My "Go sign"]

I feel like I will win. I feel like I will pass. I feel like I will succeed.

...and so on. I intuitively feel the image of things going well and the energy of success. I also feel a "groundless confidence" around my heart.

But at first, I hesitate for a moment, thinking, "Is this just my wishful thinking?" (sweat). Then, my brain desperately tries to negate that "groundless confidence," running toward total denial by saying, "There's no way it will go that well!" But even so, when I take the plunge and challenge it with the feeling of "I really feel like I'm going to pass this," I end up passing! ...That's how it feels.

So, when the acceptance notice or award notification arrives, rather than being "surprised!" or "shocked!," I find myself calmly accepting it, thinking, "Ah, it came as I expected." My mood is uplifted, happy, and excited, but it's a strange sensation of "I knew this would happen all along."

Therefore, a go sign is the feeling that "no matter what anyone says, I feel like things will go well." You shouldn't ask others about this. You must feel it yourself.

[My "NG sign"]

It is something I feel "this is no good" from the start.

When I don't feel any connection leading from here to the future, or when I feel like this relationship will end right here, that is an "NG sign."

Also, if there is someone I am working with, when I feel any discomfort or unease in their energy, that is a sign that I "should not get any more involved."

Also, when I ask my intuition, things that I feel absolutely no interest or passion for are signs that "I don't need this right now," and that I shouldn't get involved.

When I look at the timing and it says "now is not the time," in my case, the sign appears as "I don't feel any passion" or "I have absolutely no interest."

At times like these, I make sure not to force myself to get involved, and instead, I just let it pass by.

Even when asked by others, if I feel it doesn't suit me, I politely decline.

The trick is not to let things drag on. I am careful to decide quickly whether to cut it off or put it on hold, and then follow through with that decision.

Finally

Since the previous articles have been quite heavy and deep, I really enjoyed writing this one 😄.

By writing it out like this, I realized that I have been using my "heart's antenna" quite well.

I want to continue to fully utilize my intuition and senses to enjoy living my life.

Thank you for reading until the end today as well. As proof that you read this, I would be very happy if you could press the '♡ Like' button below.
