A Person's Sense Shows in Their Shoes
Hello!
Do you all have a preference when it comes to shoes?
Seeing 700 customers every month, I feel that a person's sense really shows in their shoes.
It's a sense of style, or perhaps a commitment to one's appearance and look. That's the feeling I get!
Yesterday's article was about how hairdressers are troubled when they don't know what a customer wants.
But it's also true that customers can't always express it well!
In those times, I look at their fashion, especially their shoes, to gauge their level of commitment!
Of course, I want to make it look good on them, but my suggestions also change depending on whether or not they have a specific preference for their hairstyle!
Please take a look!
Non-brand sneakers
Both men and women tend to have a lower level of commitment.
It seems many people who value cheap items or just buy them at discount stores because they just need something to wear fall into this category.
Even if their outfit looks neat at a glance, those wearing non-brand sneakers often have requests like
“Just make it short”
“Cut off two months' worth”
tending to be quite vague.
Brand sneakers
These are sneakers from brands everyone knows, like New Balance, Adidas, and Nike.
These people have a certain level of commitment!
The level of commitment also changes depending on what their outfit is like.
○ Outfit is also branded
→ Their commitment is quite strong.
They usually tend to go foran undercut.
If they are a student, it's likelyan undercut mushroom cut.
If it's short hair, it'sa fade.
They tend to have clear requests for how they want it done.
Many also bring photos.
The difficulty level goes up, but it's helpful to have something clear to go by!
○ Outfit is simple
→ Their commitment isn't that strong.
They are the type to spend money on things they deem necessary.
They might be wearing brand sneakers simply because they think they can't go wrong with them.
Since they tend to prefer stability, many come in once a month for a cut to maintain the same hairstyle.
Their hairstyles vary, fromundercuts to short soft mohawks.
Once they decide something is good, they don't change it, so they are highly likely to become regular customers.
Leather shoes
People who wear polished leather shoes clearly have a sense of style, don't they!
For working professionals who pair them with suits, many tend to have a sharp two-block or side-part hairstyle.
Older people who keep their leather shoes clean look very elegant. I'd like to emulate how they use polite honorifics with everyone they speak to.
On the other hand, many of them don't show much preference for their hairstyles. They tend to leave it to the professionals.
Crocs and sandals
Since every type of person wears these, I really can't tell anything from them lol
It's not exactly a trend, but when I see someone wearing them stylishly rather than sloppily, I think they're quite skilled!
Summary
I've talked about this in broad strokes, but what did you think?
It's not that everything applies to everyone, but I think these trends hold true to some extent.
Also, I believe almost no one has zero preferences.Occasionally, there are people who say, 'Anything is fine as long as it's short' or 'Just shave it off because it's in the way,' but other than that, everyone should have at least some preference.
In this article, I discussed this in relation to haircuts, but it's important to know where a person places their focus and what they are looking for,
Is it the price?
Is it the speed of the haircut?
Is it the quality of the finish?
By discerning those points from the customer's demeanor, you can ensure their satisfaction.
After all, if you spend a long time focusing on fine details for someone who doesn't care about their hairstyle, it can actually be counterproductive!
To achieve customer perspective and customer satisfaction, you can also gain information from the customer's feet! That was the point of this discussion!
I hope this is helpful!
Bonus
My preference in shoes
I only wear Vans!
In particular, I always have a pair of Old Skools on hand, buying a new pair as soon as I wear them out!
Besides those, I have the Era model in several colors.
Vans are cheap, but they go with everything and have a great variety of colors!
I started liking them because Ken Yokoyama from my favorite band, Hi-STANDARD, used to wear them.
I don't play futsal, but I like Athleta lol. The logo design is just cool!
The fact that they are more comfortable to wear than other sandals is also a big plus!
Because of my job, hair falls around my feet, so Chelsea boots that keep hair out are a must-have item!
It's a lifesaver because I look stylish just by wearing these lol.
There are so many different kinds of shoes, aren't there!
Please let me know what you are particular about if you'd like!
Thank you for reading until the end♪
