The joy of being cared about
My husband is always
teasing me.
I wonder if he has a sense of humor? I'm not really sure, but in the beginning, I used to react to it.
But now, I just feel like "here he goes again" and completelyignore it.My daughter is even more merciless than I am, and she
"Dad, I've heard that so many times. You only need to say it once."
she
quips.I listen to that exchange and
laugh. In the end, the only one who will keep my husband company is our grandchild (laughs).
He is that kind of husband, but he got me again the other day.
I was having a little trouble with the area around the power outlet, and I had mentioned it once.
I didn't really ask him to do anything,
it was just like
talking to myself.
Since it's always like that,
normally
he wouldn't even pay attention. It was the kind of thing I would have forgotten about on the spot myself.
But then, the day before yesterday.
On the way back from an electronics store,
"I bought this. I think this will make things more convenient for you."He said that and handed me a
power strip."Oh? Wow! Thank you! I wanted this!" I said, exaggerating my joy (laughs).
These years have turned me into an actress. But it makes me happy.
Come to think of it, when I was discharged from the hospital before, the bed sheet cover and duvet cover had been changed to my favorite floral pattern. After that, the rice bowl and soup bowl were also, as expected, my favorite floral pattern.
And this time, a power strip.
1. The floral bedding when I was discharged.
2. The floral rice bowl and soup bowl.3. This power strip.
They are all things he chose because he thought, "She would be happy if she had this."
I truly think he is a person who knows exactly what I need.
3 years of dating, 33 years of marriage.I have been watching my husband for a total of 36 years.
"Men change when they get married."
I've heard that, too.
Certainly, but perhaps their fundamental personality doesn't change much.
However, there are parts of people that change as they age.
When we were young, if we had a fight, my husband would immediately jump in the car and sometimes wouldn't come home for about two hours.
I was truly scared of that, and I kept thinking, "I just want you to stop doing that."
Strangely enough, as we have aged, that has stopped.
Even if we fight, he stays home.
After a little time passes, he talks to me as if nothing happened.Even if the roots don't change, the way people face each other changes, doesn't it?
In the 36 years we've spent together, perhaps my husband has cultivated his own kind of kindness.
The form of a marriage is different for everyone.
Even so, if there are moments when you notice your partner's kindness over a long period of time, I think that accumulating those moments isn't so bad.
