BACK TO THE FUTURE PART III (Released in theaters on June 30, 1990)
A concluding chapter that regains its brightness, a complete turnaround from Part II.

From the very beginning, the opening is a brilliant nested structure that leaves you no choice but to laugh at Doc's reaction. And then, the surprising turn of events as they encounter a group of Indians the moment they time-slip to 1885.

And the generous homage to Western films brings tears to my eyes. While lightly weaving in Doc's love story, it remains a simple 'come and go' story. Watching it after a long time, I thought this might actually be the most entertaining one of them all.

In particular, the poncho Marty wears is clearly a dead ringer for the one in 'A Fistful of Dollars,' and the name Marty uses in the film is Clint Eastwood (with permission from the man himself, of course). It's the best.

The final moments of the DeLorean, which played a huge role across all three films, are spectacular, and it's a grand finale that properly ties up all the various loose ends. And that famous line from Doc in the final scene. I think it's an ideal structure for concluding a trilogy.
