Intervention by a Third-Party Organization
The school does not protect the victim.
In many cases, people feel it is useless to ask teachers to handle the situation.
They have hoped, pleaded, and explained, yet the victim was still not protected.
Their hearts are worn down more and more.
In that case, I believe we should intervene from the start with a third-party organization capable of conducting thorough investigations, making fair judgments, and taking appropriate action.
Issues of bullying and violence are rarely solved by schools alone.
Furthermore, schools tend to minimize their own responsibility.
That is precisely why we need a system where a disinterested third party verifies the facts and takes the victim's voice seriously.
If even that cannot be achieved, then please do not half-heartedly promote educational philosophies or morals.
“Compassion,” “the importance of life,” and “justice.”
If those words are posted around the school and spoken at ceremonies, yet in reality, the victim is not protected, then those words have no meaning at all.
Protect the victim, not the perpetrator.
This is not an ideal; it is something that should be taken for granted as a human being.
Yet, the current reality is that we leave in place a structure where the side that has been harmed suffers even more.
Even if adults teach children superficial “kindness” or “compassion,” if they do not practice it themselves, children will surely notice.
That is why
I want a system established to protect victims.—This is my earnest wish.
